Had a quick search but only found other stuff. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a guide showing how to replace rear shocks? I have done a valve adjustment before and assuming you only need to remove a fraction of the plastics to reach the top mount?

Its simple enough, just have to remove the seat, rear plastics, then the bin itself, dont forget the two bolts above the battery box.

I just checked the Thai and English PCX125 service manuals, and there are no torque settings listed for the shocks.

That Korean guy makes taking the boomerang grab-rail cover off the back look easy...

Which version? I have written a guide for the LED version in the french pcx forum. I did it the fast way- without removing the trunk, just lifting it, there is enough clearance to reach the shocks. You just have to be really careful not too loose the bolts in the battery compartment, keep the nuts on them so they don't fall off. just untighten to be able to lift the whole trunk without removing.

When I changed the shocks on mine I had to take the seat and storage bin out and then I used cargo straps on an overhead beam to take the weight off of the shocks. Replacing the shocks themselves took very little time. It was the plastics removal and seat bin that took the most time, but it still did not take very much time to do it all.

If you're replacing the stock shocks with something of the same length (310mm) one side at a time, you don't need to stuff around with straps or blocks under the scooter.

I have to once again thank Maddiedog for showing me how to change out my shocks by using my wife's bike for his demonstration in the 'How-to' section. I learned a lot from him, and I think reading that section will help anyone who wants to know how to do anything on the PCX.

Did the shocks today whilst doing the first service. Managed the lot in under 3 hours both valves were tighter than spec so I loosened them up to bring them within spec.

I have the YSS Z series on stock preload and they are a world of difference over speed bumps and the odd bump. Will set the static sag tomorrow to see if that improves them more.

Now to do the first service on my wifes pcx and my brothers :-| Honda didn't think to hard about accessibility to the valves when they designed this scooter

Makes sense, I couldn't see the average scooter rider attempting it. I might be able to apply for a job at a Honda dealership after completing 3 first services this weekend! They quoted $300-400 Australian Dollars $227-303USD for the first service on each scooter

I wonder what they would say if we drove into the service area without any of the plastics on and asked them to adjust the valves.... :-)
