If you're interested in a cool scooter club's activities visit Sky Island Rider's facebook group site. We are a Tucson, Arizona based scooter club open to all riders. No rules (other than you have to be a safe rider), no dues, no secret handshakes. Howard, who is founder of the club, also has a very cool website (skyinlandriders.com) that is basically a web blog of his scooter adventures in the Southwest, with area route maps he's put together & tested. He recently added Pt. 1 of his writeup of a 600 mile 2-day ride to Northern Arizona that I got to join in on.
In the coming month we'll be participating in the 25th Fall Classic (a 3-day Tucson/Nogales rally) Nov 9-11, The Great Southwest Scooter Fiesta (a 3-day Gilbert/Phoenix rally) Nov 30 & Dec 1-2, and a benefit "Toy Run" Nov 25.

If you're in Georgia, check out the Greater Atlanta Scooter Society: https://www.facebook.com/groups/GOTGASS/

There's also the Terminal Scooter Club (look them up on Facebook), but they ride mainly Vespas and have a few hipsters that are completely irritable and self-entitled....

A shot of the PCX while parked about midway through the 25th Fall Classic rally, held this last weekend. Its a three day rally that takes place in Tucson. On day two we ride from Tucson, thru Sonoita (where this photo was taken) to a campground about 10 miles north of Nogales & the Mexican border. Altogether about 125 miles to the campground, and then another 75 back to town. There were about 45 scooters making the run- less than expected due to daytime temps in the mid 40's. The overnighters at the campground saw it get down to 32.
