I'm interested in a taller screen, ideally tinted or smoked as my scoot is black, any ideas on which brand to buy ?
Thanks, Pops on a pcx150

Looks like Honda has OEM tall windscreen. Kind of expensive though.

Thanks for the ideas ! I just put the Pcx to sleep for the winter and now have some good ideas for the spring and a more useful wind screen.

I bought the Honda OEM Tall screen (online ~$150+s&h at the time) and it's a huge improvement over the stock "fashion" windscreen! At the time it was the only verified polycarbonate screen I could find.

If I was buying today I'd probably buy one from National Cycles http://www.nationalcycle.com/replacement-sc.html. (also made from polycarbonate) Click on the "View Application Chart" button to see the year/model options.

Those are the only two brands I'd consider, since those are the only ones I know of that are polycarbonate.

Why the polycarbonate fetish?

Shatter resistance. Most windscreens are made from acrylic ("Plexiglass"), which has better shatter resistance than glass, but doesn't come close to polycarbonate ("Lexan"). All ANSI Z87-rated safety glasses are made from polycarbonate for this reason. Acrylic has slightly better optical qualities than polycarbonate (& is slightly more scratch resistant), so I usually get my non-safety eyeglass lenses made from it. But for a windscreen that might take a rock hit at 60 mph, give me polycarbonate.

Eiron, got a national for my bike. I think it is great, not only the technology but the fact they they have been in business since 1937. They should have things figured out, plus you get to deal with the manufacturer directly. All pluses.

Has there been a case of injuries due to shattered screen then?

Just another selling point for the company. They make a good wind screen.
80 years in business they must have this stuff figured out.

I've never experienced, or even heard of any problems, in close to 40 years of riding.

i completely agree! At the time when I was looking for a taller windscreen NC said they had absolutely no plans to make any models to fit the 2015 PCX. So I went with Honda. Then NC came out with theirs about 6 mos later. If they had said, "Yes, we're working on it now," I probably would've waited.

Thanks for the info! Is the National N50002 14.75" (above headlight shroud) a good choice for my PCX150?

Hi pops,

I know others here have posted about their NC windscreens. Try a couple of searches to find those posts.

If it helps, I'm 5'9" and always ride with a full-face helmet. The Honda tall screen works perfectly and provides better stability in wind buffeting conditions, along with improved gas mileage. If I rode without a helmet (or used a half-helmet without a face shield) then I'd like the Honda screen to be a little taller, as the wind tends to hit me right at eye level.

If you really dig the national web site will tell you how to size a wind screen.
And how to cut one down if you have ordered too tall.
It's in your hands pops.
