Do not put fuel under the seat please... KABOOM!
That would be a good way to open a locked seat without a key... a whole other topic.

I once road with a fuel container strapped on the passenger seat but thought better of it after. Best to refuel every 200 miles and not blow up.

Backbox, and a proper petrol gallon gas canister. Just don't leave it locked in the backbox in hot conditions?

Fuel has a sneaky way of getting away from you. I was draining my hog to install new lifters, rods and rocker arms today and the drain plug fell into the funnel. Funnel promptly clogs and quickly overflows down and over a battery tender lead. That should have been all for me but I have Jesus and this has been the luckiest couple weeks of MY LIFE so I don't even ride anymore  Anyhow, lesson is disconnect the dang battery before you do anything with fuel... don't be like me today.

Not ideal but you'd be fine unless there was a spark. You could even snokepparently although I wouldn't risk it

Petrol, especially the vapour, is really dangerous for something we are so familiar with.

From a full tank? My 2016 can reach 250 miles (UK) before I completely ran out of gas. Who rides like this without stopping for gas or to eat/rest?

Remember that the facelift version has a far bigger tank.
120 miles to a flashing last bar on the gauge is quite normal for a first generation PCX if ridden hard.

It's not unheard of if done right

An Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman were out fishing in a boat on a lake together and doing very well.
'This is a terrific spot for fishing,' said the Englishman. 'How will we know where this spot is next time?'
'I've thought of that,' said The Scotsman, 'I've just put a mark on the side of the boat.'
'You idiot,' said the Irishman, 'how do you know we will get this boat the next time?'

I created a holder behind me out of Styrofoam. It acts as a back rest for me and a holder for my small gas container. When we are riding in the back country areas, exploring the country roads, it is good to have extra gas, especially when you have other ideas here the gas stations are.

Look into the fuel storage canisters used for the back packing gas stoves. You'll find them where back packing equipment is sold. They're aluminum and hold about a pint of fuel. I've used them back packing without any problems at all. They don't leak either.

and when i go to a great trip in the mountains and i have fraid vor closed gasolinstations,

i have 2 bottles of 1 liter oil ---verry cleaning with hot water and thinks from my kitchencleaner---under the seat more.

this plastik bottles of 1 liter is good, its give nothing problems with heat from the engine, and when you close the 1 liter oilbottle fast, its give nothing problems.

and you can it ---whenn you have the gasoline in the tank--when you want in the restcontainer doing.
