Road trip, upstate ny

Post by riding@100mpg »

Took 2 days off adding to the weekend and did a 300 mile (give or take) tour up to whiteface mountain in upstate ny. Was wonderful touring through the Adirondack mountains up to lake placid and then up to whiteface. The pcx 150 now has over 1200 miles on it and I am still averaging 100 mpg! Love my new ride. Hope everyone else takes the chance to get out and have some fun.never though I would have so much fun after having big motorcycles my whole life.

Nice area for summer ride on a new bike. You already have as many miles on yours as I do on my 3 y.o. PCX. Congrats!

Inspiring! I think I'll get out there and put some miles on today. Welcome to the forum, what's your next adventure?

As predicted by me during the last 5 dollar per gallon fuel scam unless your state or government decide to tax the holy crap out of gasoline we will never see those high fuel prices again. At 2.15 cents a gallon mpg only means how long you ride before refueling :D enjoy the precious and stay off the incident list please.

100 mpg,

Glad to hear it! I've taken a few shorter tours (100 miles) this year and two round-trips to Deal's Gap (800 miles) and I had a great time on all accounts.

PCX is a great bike and keeping off the Interstate makes the journey so much more interesting.

Ride safe!

When we took our bikes for a long ride for the day our only concern was where the gas stations were in the back country, since we were taking back country roads and doing a lot of sight seeing. Riding the PCX on those roads gives one a different view. You can pull over when you want to and not worry about if a car can pass you because of the small shoulder on the road. There is a lot of beauty out there that people on the freeways will not see.

Thanks for all the support. I believe I have found true "adventure riding". May try to hit mount Washington in n.h. next. Just seems so easy to ride the pcx. Love this forum
