Are these scooters oil burners?

Post by Top Speed »

I know any engine with lots of miles and being abused will burn oil. I just want to know do these scooter burn oil. Even when new or low miles? Looking at buying a PCX or Forza soon.

Thanks in advance.

The first and second oil changes may burn a little oil, just due to break in. There has been conversation about this before; however, I'm on my third change and have seen no oil loss this last time around.

I only check the oil level at oil changes, the level never drops below the minimum.

Right. I've seen small scooters that burn oil, but the PCX doesn't seem to at all.

Same here - I did not do the 1st 600 change (hope the dealer did) but did the oil change myself at 5000 and now at approx 7800 it's gone down half the knurled area.
