Camcorder action while riding.. Recommendations
I know the Go Pro is probably top line, but are there any others out there that are reasonably priced that does a good job. looking for one with little wind noise, good steady picture clarity. I know there are many cheaper go pro clones , but are they any good ?..How about the more compact bullet types? What to look for ? Appreciate comments.

I got sjcam 4000. It's like go pro but not cheap clone. Full HD 1080 with wifi and lcd seen on the back it costs around £60 on amazon. To have all those features on go pro it would be four times more. And mounts are compatible with go pro.easyrider wrote:I know the Go Pro is probably top line, but are there any others out there that are reasonably priced that does a good job. looking for one with little wind noise, good steady picture clarity. I bought a toshiba. Has a clear case like the go pro and all the accessories. Just missing the silly price tag

Re: Camcorder action while riding.. Recommendations
I haven't found a decent mounting place for one, now that I am riding a PCX. The vibration is too much for a steady picture. I saw someone on a scooter the other day who had a GoPro mounted on his helmet. He seemed to be having problems with it due to the cross winds. His was mounted on the top of his helmet instead of on the side, where I have seen others mounted.

What models do well in a vibration environment. I read somewhere some have an anti vibration motor in the gizmo. I know some vibration will always be there but you can watch off roaders and the picture video is steady even though they are going over rocks and holes etc.

Depends on what you want it for, you can spend some time looking at video blogs and ask the poster when you see a particular video that suits your needs. If you just want traffic monitoring you can get that for cheap. Here are two 3 minute segments from my cam today. Shaky as hell but if mounted on the helmet and not the bike its pretty good. For incident reporting I just stick it on the bikes. You can't blog for 100 bucks with a dash cam though and that's OK with me.
Absolutely beautiful day, many bikers on the road and the beaches are full

Re: Camcorder action while riding.. Recommendations
I ordered a GoPro 3 White Edition for $199 CAD ($140 USD) on a surprise one day sale on Amazon which should come Wednesday. Costco has the Silver Edition for $299 CAD ($210 USD) which had better features, but meh I was cheap. I chose GoPro because it has an external mic input which I can run to my helmet, or use Sena's Bluetooth solution which they sell for $100.
If you wait until June however, Sena is FINALLY releasing their Prism Tube camera for $119USD. Comes with dual microphone, one goes inside the helmet you can speak into and one outside that is used for wind noise cancellation. It would be nice if it picked up the sound of the engine..

It says sjcam wifi on mine. Buy on amazon there's lots of clones on ebay. If it's below £60 and it doesn't say sjcam on it it's clone. Can't be this bad if it's worth cloning. I have used mine as dash cam on my lorry for about a year and no problems so far.lolofigo wrote:easyrider wrote:Like this one ?

Hello I'm new here. I wanted to tell about ion cameras I got from Amazon (ion speed pro ) got it for about 50 buks . I mounted it on my handle bars at first but now I have on my helmet both gave pretty good video. This speed pro has aux mic input which I just got . the other is
( ion pro lite ) 42 buks on Amazon no external microphone
They are some cool vids on YouTube as well. I just couldn't bring myself to paying for a go pro. Hope this helps

I just stuck mine below the screen. Works perfectly

Below the screen?? Do you have a PCX or a Forza. I tried one on my handlebars and the vibration was terrible. I tried it on the panel in front of the handlebar (front cover) and it still had too much vibration.
