High pressure radiator cap *found*

Post by dem0nk1d »

Gents,

After doing some cross checking on part numbers the Honda CRF-250R 2013 model uses the same radiator cap as the PCX 150. OEM Honda part# 19037-GEE-710. If you would like to upgrade to a 1.6 BAR High pressure cap you can grab this one here locally in the United States directly from the vendor. I just happened to pick mine up at a local shop had it in stock.

Basically helps from overheating the engine. I think the stock one is set to open up at 0.8 BAR

I expect that if you are trying to push the PCX's performance envelope that you very well might run into cooling issues. A big bore kit will generate more heat, and possibly more than the stock cooling system is designed for. Higher pressure might be an issue for other bits of the cooling system, but if the rest of the system can take it, a higher pressure system can run hotter, and so pull more heat away. (higher delta T at the radiator).
On my scoot, getting there is WAY more than half the fun!

but please, don't delete anybody, no matter how badly they deserve deleting :)

Yes plenty of reports... He will need that when he installs the bore kit, over heating is big concern with big bore upgrades

As of now my pcx is the stock bore, with minor mods. Intake, gutted and shorten exhaust, NCY variator. I do tons of freeway riding. Fastest speed is around 79mph. Registered on GPS. =P

Use a lot of water in the coolant mix. It helps cool the engine down more. if you have a 1.6 bar cap like that you can go full water. I'm waiting for mine to be shipped.

I did check, are you sure it's a 1.6? I see it's a 1.1 on pictures online.
I know the old SH150 made in Italia use a 1.1 as I can already get one from my local shop.

It's a 1.6 as stated, it shows 1.6 in the photo. I'm currently running it now.
