Windshield Removal

I am replacing the stock (short) windshield on my 2015 Forza 300 with the Honda tall windshield and am seeking advice on how to remove what Honda’s instructions refer to as the SCREEN GARNISH – that’s the Y-shaped painted Tupperware that sits below the windshield and between the headlights.

After removing the three screws located between the headlights that secure the SCREEN GARNISH, I tried to remove it with my fingers by pulling the bottom of the SCREEN GARNISH out and down towards the front tire but I was unable to work it free and the two clips in the center of the SCREEN GARNISH remain attached.

Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

There's instructions here.
I had a go so I could clean under the screen but found the plastic piece very difficult to remove, so gave up because I thought I was going to break it.

You have to violently pull on it in the RIGHT direction. Scary. It is a stupid spring loaded pinch point. I did it and it is still scary.

Dave, by RIGHT direction is that to the right or the correct direction. Is down and forward the RIGHT direction. I appreciate your encouraging me.

when i did mine . ( there is a youtube somewhere but can't find it ).3 screws ..then you go from the top of the panel not the bottom ... 3 / 4 inches down from top put finger tips between screen and body , and slide down ward with the panel an it should pop out of it's clip. then do other side .. the little clips are just above the indicator....at worse case ,i was told sometimes the little yellow clips break, and are replaceable . but the panel is pretty strong ...

I am soon glad the PCX isn't this hard to do. It took me all of 5 minutes to change out our windshield. See, there are advantages to little bikes. :-)
(Sorry, I just had to say that.) If you are afraid to do that, might it be possible to go to the dealer and have their mechanics take it off? Then you can ride home with that part strapped to the back, change your windshield, and then just pop it back on.

Here is the link for the removal of the panel below the windscreen on the Forza 300!

I have had my Forza for 12 months, love it. I have the the complete service manual on my ipad/computer, if anyone needs any info from it let me know and I can email to them.
