Shad SH45 on a Forza

The topbox arrived yesterday. I ordered an SH45 from AJ Sutton, the UK distributor. Service was fantastic. Bought the box, bracket, back rest and white top panel and got a discount for the package, which arrived the next morning (with a free t-shirt).

I'd never seen a Shad topbox before and I'm impressed. I've had a few Givi boxes and a Honda one on my Vision. The Shad is better than the Givis -better quality and more sturdy- and massively cheaper.

Fitting was easy and only took 30 minutes because I took my time. Rather than leaving the plate off the back of the bike I drilled the hole out (with a stepped drill) and the bracket fixes to the bike with 4 bolts. Then the plate fixes to the bracket with 4 bolts, two into threaded holes on the bracket and two tightened into nuts. Once the box is on you can't access the bolts, unlike on my Vision where you could just unscrew the lot from underneath.

I was a bit hesitant about fitting it as I didn't want it to spoil the lines, but as it is I think it looks ok. I might shell out for the additional brake light next.

The Honda official boxes are made by Shad.
I see your silencer is going rusty at the end, on the top in a v shape, mine did that too.

Only a few days in, and the Shad is proving itself to be so much better than my Givis. More sturdy, stable, locks on more reassuringly, and doesn't need foam stuck to the base to stop it rattling (there are rubber stoppers on the base).

My trucks have a 1600 cc derivative of the same motor so i suspect lots of the 4x4 "Jeeps" have that now as a modification.
