I can't speak specifically of Honda's ignition switch on the PCX, but a lot of ignition switches will fail with too much weight on them constantly. Since it's a Honda, I don't really hold anything back... But on my Kymco Spade, I have a separate key ring with just the one key.

Of all the electrical components that exist... Switches are going to be the failure point 90+% of the time.

Only the ignition key in the lock, nothing else.
Get a quick-release for the ignition key on your keyring.
Then ignition key in the lock, other keys in your pocket or storage cubbyhole.

You may be right but I have 3 keys on my PCX key ring, and I have had my 2013 model since it was new without any ignition problems whosoever. That is really only two keys hanging down, since the ignition key is one of the three attached. I had more on there at first but was afraid that they would scratch the plastics.

the ignition was a problem on the Pcx. I am all excited learning all I can about this little machine. The last time I rode something like this was a long time ago when I when to Uni.

I also have ignition and top box key together, that's ok. It's just some have more and heavy key aswell.

My 3 keys are: ignition, Givi tailbox key, and house key. Any additional keys go under the seat in a zip lock bag. Those 3 will be used almost continually, since I store my helmet in the tailbox and if I have to make a quick stop at home to do something such as drop off some groceries, I don't want to have to look for the house key.

I have, on my wish list, a zippered case to keep the keys from scratching the plastic.

Many of the portable air compressors is will blow the cigarette lighter fuse… Just know where it is in case it happens… better to connect via alligator clips directly to the battery.

That was one reason that I connected my 12 volt accessory outlet directly to my battery, with an inline fuse. I have, in fact, used it with an air pump. It worked great, unlike the ones that are built into the newer bikes. The built in ones have a restricted amount of amps because that circuit attaches to other bike circuits, and Honda does not want those circuits burned up in case of a problem.

Standard bike acc socket is 12v 10A, plenty for a phone.
Maybe add a USB converter and use a standard lead?

Fortunately I don't need one, my S5 neo will run the satnav for 20 hours off a charge.
