Meguier's Plastex

Post by Benggolf »

Didn't notice that there were several light scratches on the windscreen of our new Forza when I took delivery.
Promptly reported it to the salesman and he just said he will talk to the manager about it and get back to me.
Of course, he never even bother to call back.

Being as anal as I am, I ordered a replacement OEM (short) windscreen, but after 2 days, the parts counter person
said the item has been backordered!

So off I go to Lordco (an auto supplies store) and found a bottle of Meguier's Plastex plastic cleaner/polisher. After
some polishing and patience....voila! I was able to remove all the scratches on the windscreen! So, I quickly cancelled my order (and saved C$85.86).

So any one ooking for a good plexiglas cleaner/polisher, I suggest trying Meguier's Plastex. 8)

Good Job Benggolf!
It's awful that our scoot windscreens are delivered with hairline scratches. I've heard it happens a lot. I remember being angry when I saw mine. I called the dealership. He claimed the whole scoot was "gone over" and that no scratches were on the screen. I never wanted to see him (owner) or his store again. I didn't!
I too found my "special" polish, dug up a good amount of patience and with a little elbow grease did the deed. Screen was better and so was I :)

I think the guys who prep new bikes grab any rag in the garage and wipe them down. We use a clean microfiber and quick detailer to clean our scoots. My little windscreen was scratched up too. Maddening. Thanks for the product recommendation!

When I had my bike in the shop they scratched the windshield on it too. I think they dont pay attention to windshields because they handle big boy bikes that dont come with tall windshields.
Currently own:
Red 2013 Honda PCX150

Givi tall windshield & tailbox - Lots of extra lights
Custom seat from Thailand - Bad Boy Airhorn
Takegawa Lowering Shocks - Michelin City Grip Tires
Headlight assy upgraded to LEDs w/HS5 main bulbs
NCY variator, drive face, and rollers
