I know this is a sensitive subject for some, but I'm genuinely interested in knowing the age of the average PCX/Forza owner.

For example, I'd say the Ruckus crowd is under 25 and the Silver Wing crowd is over 50. So is the PCX/Forza a "middle ground" for age like it is in CCs?

When purchasing the PCX, my dealer thought I was joking and said I'm a bit too young to be riding a scooter. I told him I was too lazy to keep shifting

So, if you're brave enough... how old are you?

I'm 26, married, and have a daughter. I bought the PCX as a commuter to save gas. I was driving a Sierra (18mpg) and Suzuki Marauder (35mpg) and wanted something better on gas an more fun than a Prius. I miss being able to cruise with my wife, so in addition to the PCX, I'll probably get a Forza during the 2014/2015 Winter for 2-up'ing.

I'm 57 this year . . . English, but semi-retired in France.

Is it the average age? The vote is about a specific age.

1. a number expressing the central or typical value in a set of data, in particular the mode, median, or (most commonly) the mean, which is calculated by dividing the sum of the values in the set by their number.


So if 10 people "vote" for their age using :

2 x 21-30
3 x 31-40
4 x 41-50
1 x 51-60

To make the process easier, you'd simply make "21-30" = 25, "31-40" = 35, and so on.

So, (2x25)+(3x35)+(4x45)+(1x55) = 390
Divide that number by the 10 folks, would put the average age roughly at 39.

I don't know how math/English works in the "The centre of the universe" but at least you now know how it works here.

I bought my first bike (new rider) at age 35- it was a 2013 PCX 150. I bought it for daily commuting to work to save on gas. It done well, averaging me about 70 mpgs, and maintaining 55 mph. I wanted to upgrade to get more power and ability to 2 up with the wife. So I decided on the 2014 Forza just before turning 36. I like the simplicity of an automatic. Was deciding between the CTX 700 DCT, and the Forza...see which won out.

Its not its average so far.

As long as you are happy assuming a mid point within the population of each band, that sort of thing would never happen in the CotU

45, had the 150 for about 10 months. First bike ever, far from the last though!

Once there is enough data, then you can figure out a statistically meaningful "average" using the midpoints of the categories and the number of members in the categories. But even as it stands, the graph shows the distribution pretty well. Perhaps the title may have been better as "Median" age, but for most people, median is the big green thing in the middle of the highway.


Too bad the survey can't display a box and whisker plot... that would be pretty cool.

Wot graph, wot distribution? Median within the population of groups? Pehaps I should just join in...

Well, I cast my survey selection, and then the results showed up. Now the results are all I see at the top of this post set (although It also appears that I can change my selection and maybe skew the data). The results are displayed as a horizontal bar graph. and right now are almost perfectly normal with an apparent mean in the 41-50 category. Nothing terribly surprising....

I am 67 and have been riding since I was 17. After 5 back surgeries for a service related injury, my wife told me that I could not get another motorcycle...so did my surgeon and my pain specialist. Who listens to them!!!?? My wife finally agreed to a scooter if she could get onep too. She isn't a fan of 2 up. I bought a Burgman 400 for myself and a PCX 150 for her. After almost 2 years with the Burgman it occurred to me that I was spending a lot of time 'wrestling' it around city traffic and quick turns into alleys, while she was zipping along like she was on a bicycle. We discussed the problem and decided that it would be good for me to trade down since we spend so much time in traffic and on our local streets...hardly ever on a freeway. So, now we have 2 2013 PCX 150s. I miss the horsepower of the Burgman, but it is really fun to zip around on the PCX.

I'm 55 and have a Forza. I also have a Ruckus.

I'm thinking about swapping the Forza for the new PCX150i this summer though. I have spine problems and the lighter weight bikes are easier for me to ride. I have no need for 2-up riding or high-speeds riding. I just want to be able to go 55-65 mph when I need to, so that I don't have to avoid all the state roads.

I'm 46 and I've had it for about 10 months as well. This is my first motorized 2 wheel vehicle. Too bad Mel, we should have traded. Other then just getting into my subdivision, most of my driving is 45 mph+. Although I'm a ways from Marietta, Ga. I'm about 40 miles west of Chicago. I love how nimble the PCX is in turns.

I agree Emma I never ride two up. I did it when I was in my late teens early 20's and I hated that I wasn't in control. I like the motto of scooterdivas.com
