Ignition key difficulties

Is anyone finding difficulties with their ignition key sticking in the barrel?

Mine has happened a couple of times and the key seems to be jammed and only by a little gentle manipulation will it move forward or backwards.

Other than a spray of wd40 I really can't think of any solution for it :(

You could use wd40 but it can collect dirt and make it worse. Locksmiths recommend a dry graphite powder. A spray is available in maplin.

It's best not to be too liberal with it though as it might get into the electrical part if the switch.

If it's a forsa you have gn2 was saying his was sticking as well. Maybe there's a issue with them.

Mine has occasionally been stiff but wd40 fixed it.

This or this or this should work. Put a bit "on the key" itself and insert several times (keep paper towel handy)

It gets stiff quite regularly, when wd40 doesn't do the trick my wife fixes it for me.
She knows all kinds of tricks to take the stiffness away.

Mine would sometimes stick to the first position (fuel door/seat) when turning it. I tried oiling the lock cylinder but what really worked was to use a wire wheel machine at work to de-burr the key.
10-20 seconds was all it needed.

The new 2014 PCX has new keys (according to the deaker) - not sure what the difference is or what the original looked like.
