Spanner Wrench for rear shocks

First of all, thanks for the posts of the parts list, etc. One thing I notice is that the tool kit parts-list contains a lot of tools that I didn't get. Most I don't really care about, I have dups from other older Honda tool kits, but the spanner and handle are needed. I have searched the Web and found one place that carries the spanner, but not the handle.

I think I read that others have adjusted their rear shocks; where did they find the tools??

Does that wrench have it's own part number? Call your dealer parts dept. and inquire on a price. Thy might have one from a tool kit they can sell even if there is only a p/n for the tool kit itself.

I was going to reply that the rear shocks are not adjustable. Then I realized that you have a Forza 300. Your question is in the right section but somehow I missed the path of the thread (path is not shown under 'view active topics'). Maybe we should state in the title every time if it's about a Forza or a PCX to avoid confusion. Just my thought and as such probably not very relevant.

As gn2 said, I was able to adjust one easily, the other one took a little forcing with some heavy gloves to get it to move the first time.

I thought I was missing parts in my toolkit also, it only contained a helmet-locking cable and a double-sided screwdriver. The parts list showed more parts including a spanner. I went to the honda dealer and they looked it up on the computer and it showed the other parts as unavailable. They got a toolkit out of another scooter and it didn't have these other parts either. So guess that's all that comes with the toolkit.

Or, or...since I couldn't bring myself to stab my new Honda with a metal tool...I used a hard nylon wedge and tapped it. (wedges used to level plumbing fixtures on the floor)
Probably could turn by hand w/gloves - except for the R hand one.(I have hands the size of Easter Hams)

yeah, I couldn't bring myself to do it either.

I knew I had to have a preload spanner, maybe from an older Honda tool kit, I couldn't find anything....
and then I thought about it....

the BR's shocks were not adjustable.
the VT1100 Shadow's rear shocks were too fat
the GL500's rear shock is air-preloaded...pump it up!

on a whim, I tried the shock spanner from my Ural's toolkit and it fit perfectly.

Later on, I found an Ohlins spanner that also worked.

Its not advice, its one methiod of turning the adjuster.
It might scuff the adjusters up a bit but it shouldn't break them.
If you look back you'll find another method I described, maybe you would like to criticise me for exposing them to a risk of injuring their fingers?
Maybe you might like to call me a racist as well?
Seems its the in thing just now.

Well, for Pete's Sake...look at all of that!
I guess they figure Americans are too dumb to know how to use all those exotic tools.
I got a beer opener with the dealer's logo, a screwdriver, a lovely piece of foam (emergency bedding?) a fuse puller, and a thing to strangle chickens with.
I've tried 'em all, except for the emerg. bedding - and they work great!
(BBQ chicken again tonight!)

Hmmm, I would be nervous when a dealer give me some emergency bedding. Is the bike that bad that I need to anticipate being stranded at the side of the road.
