Oh, this thread is glorious.

I would be in if I could get a pair for $300 shipped. Any more than that is just too much!

I think I can fabricate some for far less than that. If I end up with a lot of spare time some weekend, I'll probably prototype some using styrofoam. I'd likely go with ones like the big Wing Yap ones. I really wish I could see how these install. If I go the DIY route, I'll likely just form the ones I homemake to the body panels, not sure yet though. Fiberglass isn't too hard to work with, but I might prototype with cheaper materials.

Maddiedug, if you look at the ones from motodesign you can see the back side of their form it appears to match the shape of the rear of the scooter. Also the have two support pieces one that connects both boxes at the top of the rear end of both boxes across the top of the tail light and thy have an additional cross piece which goes lower and appears to connect to the holes in the lower section of both boxes. This piece looks like it is being used for turn signals and license plate etc. So it ma actually mount where the license plate goes. this would give a rear support. the only other support I can tell of is right below the body panel above the back wheel there appears to be one location they are using for a bracket. which connects to the box.

The only concern I have about those big yellow ones that WingYap had at a concept show is the heat from the muffler those things are super huge!!!!.

Hey, how does one get more privileges around here at least to be able to message the site administrator?

I wish there was a picture of the motodesign ones on a scooter, they look like they mount differently than the others. I do have an aftermarket rear rack -- I wonder if I could just incorporate them into the rack somehow.

Hmm, I hadn't thought about heat. Maybe I'd have to incorporate a heat deflector if I built some...

Maddiedog,

Here's an image I photo shopped together to show you how I believe they mount. If it's not, it's at least a great idea of how it could be done. The license plate, light and turn signals would mount to the lower cross piece. Tell me what you think?

Oh, that make way more sense. Are there any pictures of that style box mounted on the PCX?

I see this thread faded away. I've looked at the links and see these beautiful side boxes are still available. Has anyone ordered them? How was the quality? Pros? Cons? Would anyone be interested in buying multiple quantities so we can try to get a discount? Thanks!

Looks a great idea, but what is to stop bodywork/side box rubbing causing damage?

I am curious is anyone using side panniers in any form currently on a 2015 PCX? if how are they securing the side panniers from not just coming off the back of the bike, when it is going forward, but from flapping about as you drive along?

Is their any cutting required to get the straps to run under the seat of the seat itself? and what weight loads are you comfortable using?
