First meetup ride was a blast!

I joined two groups on meetup.com - one a scooter group for my area, and the other a motorcycle group (both central NJ). The scooter group seems to arrange rides a few times a year, whereas the cycle group puts together a few rides each week/weekend. I participated in my first one yesterday, about 60 miles, with the cycle group. Of a dozen riders, 3 of us were new, and I was the only one not on a motorcycle. The group was really impressed with the PCX150 being capable of 55-60 mph on a highway for an exit or two (all the route required), and doubly-wowed when I told them what my average MPG was. I'll admit, being staggered around a good couple rumbling Harley's makes me think there will be more to my riding career than just this scooter, but I was easily able to hang with the "big boys" and was as welcomed as the other guys. Definitely looking forward to the next one as long as it's above 50ยบ!
