Lyme Regis Coast to Coast Run

Post by tomtic »

Well early this morning I rode down to Lyme Regis on the south coast (of England) to watch the start of the annual Coast to Coast vintage motorcycle run from Lyme Regis to Weston-super-Mare. The Run is roughly an 80 mile ride, and is very well attended with usually 250 classic bikes and around 100 marshalls and their bikes. The whole town enjoys this wonderful spectacle, and guaranteed to bring a smile to passing motorists. There are some really beautiful bikes including Nortons, BSA's, the odd Matchless as well as plenty of Triumphs of all description.
I've attached a couple of pics of some of the bikes .......
And following the send-off I got to enjoy a windy but enjoyable ride up to Salisbury. The day's total mileage was 198 miles, and I got off feeling none the worse for wear (something I couldn't have said for some of the bikes I've owned!). So if you're into classic bikes, this run takes place every June and is well worth a visit!
Tom.

You probably had less vibrations through your hands and bum than those old British bikes, nice pics!

The triton is perfect. The trident looks spot on too. What is behind them, an early 70s commando?
