I'm having to self isolate, due to my daughter catching covid, so I'm using the time wisely.
My PCX 125 has just hit 5000 miles, so I thought it was about time I bit the bullet and got the feeler gauge out.
Stripping the plastics was time consuming, but I didn't want to snap any fixings, I found that once all the screws and plastic plugs were out there was always one I'd missed.
The actual job of valve checking is quick and easy once the head is exposed, on my 2018 model the camshaft has a mark on the end to set top dead centre. Both valves were slightly tight, but only by about an eighth of a turn of the adjuster. I'm sure they would have lasted another 5000 miles, but better safe than sorry.
Valve clearance done!
