Here are some pics taken from the article
(You'll see there's also a hybrid electric in White & Blue for Japan. A 125 for Europe).

I can't see why the complication and expense of a rear disc brake is needed on a lightweight scooter.
I find the rear drum brake works just fine. ;)

Because the rest of the segment has it,It’s not so much about what ‘s efficient, it’s about a complete feature set.

Great post WN! :D

I could be mistaken but I detect a slight difference in the contour of the seat. If they made it more comfortable for larger riders that would be a huge plus.

And I do like the fact they've finally added the rear disc brake. That said, I felt the drum brake on my 2017 was adequate. :geek:

Works just fine I agree!

But the thing is not so good are

1- Sensation to touch, you can modulate your braking easier, and because of that....
2- Effort to apply proper braking
3- Hassle free maintenance! This piece of mind of not to remove the exhaust and the wheel in order to change the brakes is just priceless

Im wondering when Honda is going to make a 2 piece exhaust system, in case you need to remove the rear wheel, just take out the muffler, and leave the pipe screwed to the head

Something like this:

The rear disk brake might still not make it to the States, just look at the current modal. I think the big plus of the new PCX is the 4 valve head. This might be the first Honda PCX to be able to hit 70mph out of the box, maybe.

I watched some YouTube videos about the new 2021 PCX 160. I didn't see any with drum rear brakes.

With the new frame design I guess you can now get a helmet under the seat in the lower forward area of the compartment. Of course that is something you've always got to check for yourself at a dealer if your considering buying one. Advertising claims may not always be universally true. Hence, not all helmets are alike.

It appears you can get a bottled water in the storage bin where the USB port is (standing up . . . not just placed in laying down).

The seat looks all too similar but I do see an ever so slight difference . . .. Hoping it is a bit more roomy for the rider. Again, something one would have to personally check on a floor model at a dealer.

I like the dash display.

Smart Key and Rear Disc Brakes in a U.S. model? Again, that we will have to see . . ..

The 4 valve engine provides more oommmphhh while yet remaining civilized. What will Yamaha NMax fans think?

I may have missed something but all and all it looks like Honda has spent some serious time revisiting the PCX and making substantial improvements. My only concern is I hope the structural integrity of the new frame design will hold up in the long run. It appears gussets have replaced structural tubing to reduce sprung weight.

Then again what do I know?

Don't get too excited.
Some models have already had rear disc for a while, but most markets will still get a drum rear brake on this latest model.
European model will retain the drum.

I thought this one showed a lot of the new features. Of course it's from Asia where they already have the Smart Key and Rear Disc Brake. 8)

I have to wonder if "short" people will still have a problem touching the ground at a stop, like they do now. My wife is 5 foot nothing. Touching the ground at a Stop sign and keeping her balance became impossible in some situations, such as slopes. Her first trip out she stopped at a corner, ready to turn right, and the road grit was too much for her toes, so over she went.

Our solution eventually was a really tall pair of boots.

Glad they worked out for your wife Mel . . ..

They also come in handy when trying to clean bird droppings off the roof of a car.

Yup, some model like the forza. But this is the first pcx with rear disk

And, In The UK (and i think in the vast majority of Europe) the 160cc version is not going to be sold, that's why it keeps the rear drum brake (just because is a 125cc).

Commercially speaking, isnt worthy to honda to import a bike that is not going to sell better by any mean that the 125cc counterpart.

Oh yeah . . . there's a variety of methods to get that pesky goo off the hoof . . . I mean roof.

My understanding was that the tall boots would help vertically challenged folks to see over the top of the car roof better.

For vans I suggest a step stool or 3 step ladder. You need to be sure you have a good footing of course.

One thing I've discovered over the years is that very early in the morning . . . in the warm months . . . when there is dampness/condensation/morning dew on the car surfaces . . . and the droppings are of the "day old" variety . . . they can be more easily removed with the careful use of soft paper towels so as not to mar the paint finish. Mother Nature's free "presoak" works and it allows you to postpone washing the entire car (less frequent washings per year) and in the long run conserve water. :geek:

I haven't had any problems with hawks that I can recall but I figured I'd throw in these pics just cause . . .. Honda had a "Hawk" and a "Super Hawk". :D

Beautiful bird!

"The intrepid readiness, the terrible eyes.
The wild God of the world is sometimes merciful to those
That ask mercy, not often to the arrogant.

You do not know him, you communal people, or you have forgotten him;
Intemperate and savage, the hawk remembers him;
Beautiful and wild, the hawks, and men that are dying, remember him."
