I noticed that 3 crows joined me just overhead for 1/4 of a mile on my ride out for coffee this morning.
Allowing for speedo error, i can report that we all were cruising at 29mph.
Or, or....is airspeed figured in knots??

Airspeed is usually quoted in knots, its entirely different from ground speed though.
As an illustration a glider travelling at 150knots airspeed with a 20 knot tailwind is travelling at 170 knots over the ground.
That's 195mph and its pretty exhilarating when you're five feet off the ground.
There's also a difference between true air speed and indicated airspeed, used to know more about it but its slipped through the gaps in my brain.

Some say it's a connection to the "spiritual realm".
Seeing a gull or swan flying over water on my flank for a good distance makes me wonder . . ..
Seeing birds fly across my path often at low altitude makes me wonder . . ..
I never feel alone when I see birds in my "sphere" as I ride.
