Thats a myth. I work for a pretty reputable Performance parts Manufacturer. We specialize in Positive displacement Blowers. Newer vehicles come much stronger from factory.

We have pushed 12-15psi of boost on stock bottom end V8s with no real issues (Granted you have to upgrade all your fuel system to keep up, even more of you want to run on corn juice).

The issue with these E-Superchargers is its not a supercharger at all. Its a Fan. It pushes air, it doesnt compress it. Only way I see this working at all simply being that at LOW rpm the engine is moving very little air and causes there to be some kind of boost in from the intake valve to the fan but once you the engine is up in the RPM range it will equal out. Not to mention the power draw on the system.

If the stock ECU cant compensate for open air filter and exhaust, Its certainly going to run lean and you will risk knock, and at worse you bust a ring land or something..

But I look forward to the results. Popcorn in hand.

Coming from the Ruckus Scene, Couple people tried Turbo on GY6 150cc engines. Not enough air to actually spoon even the smallest turbo.

Standard Functions did a Zume 125cc swap into a ruckus. Bored it out to something over 200cc and made a couple PSI of boost.

Thanks very cool, I wonder what turbo they used? The few project that I have seen online have also only produced a few PSI of boost.

How is the S/C PCX coming along?

Properly engineered turbos, plural, do work if you know what you are doing. Checkout this project out, a turbo compound 125cc salt lake racer motorcycle. Custom turbos were used to get the 45 psi of boost the owner wanted. He is pushing 60 RWHP.

14 PSI with a single turbo, he is getting 28 hp. Look at that custom exhaust turbine housing.

One last post. This one graph is of the stock Garrett GT06 turbo and the one with the custom turbine exhaust. The stock Turbo seems to be just right for the RPM range that our scooters run at.

Blue line is the stock GT0632.
