Givi 323 tall windscreen

I just ordered a Givi 323 DT clear tall windscreen from compacc.com http://www.compacc.com/p/Givi-D322-Repl ... CX125-2010
I know they are supposed to be discontinued so I called and asked if this was available and I was assured that they have them, so maybe they are being made again. I hope when the box arrives it is the tall screen. I already have the short screen and don't like it.

I'm pretty sure they get their supply of Givi products straight from Italy, so if they say they have it or can get it then the factory is still producing them. We had ordered the standard Givi windscreen from the same website and had to wait for a month for it. I am guessing that it had to be manufactured first. I think you will like the tall screen. We have had to add to our windscreen to make it more wind worthy. Luckily, I'm an engineer so I think I did a good job with it. Still, it probably would have been better if we had ordered the tall one in the first place.

Tall Givi effects:

My tolerance for cold had me off the bike at anything below 50 degrees. After installing the tall Givi, I rode as low as 25 degrees. May have ridden in colder weather, but it didn’t get any colder on the days I was out.

Wind buffeting above 45 MPH made me avoid freeways. Amazing difference with the windshield; quickly reached freeway speeds with no discomfort. OTOH, I lose 15 MPG (US) when cruising at 60 rather than 45 MPH.

Yesterday I got surprised by a sudden T-storm on my way home. I jumped on the Interstate to get through the squall as quick as possible. I got a little damp on the backs of my shoulders, but the worst of it was the top of my helmet got wet and water dripped down the front of me. Leaning into the windshield helped a little, but is impractical for very long.

The tall Givi looks ungainly compared to the brief lines of the original screen, but it looks balanced when there is a rider in the saddle. I would prefer the screen be a few inches shorter so I could see the road over the top of the screen, but have grown accustomed to its height, and plan to leave it alone.

I’m 5’10, 160 lbs.

Tried out the new Givi 323 tall windscreen at highway speeds, 55 - 60 mph, and I LOVE it!!! No more buffeting or awful wind noise like you get with the short Givi screen. The only problem is the upturned screen pieces at the bottom on each side sometimes reflect the sun right up into my eyes. I plan to put some light car window tint on those areas to reduce the reflection. Does anybody see any problems with this? I wondered if it would heat up and warp the screen if the bike was parked in the sun, which is why I would use the lightest tint available just to get rid of the glossiness of the screen. Helpful comments and opinions welcome. I do not want to carry around a cover.

Congrats on the new screen! What a difference, huh?

You may want to ride a few more times with the screen before you make any mods. I’ve never had a problem with distracting reflections. Perhaps you were out at the precise time of day to be going a specific direction that would direct a bad glare. I’m thinking that might be pretty rare. Give it a second or third go before you decide.

The number of complex angles would suggest that the screen will not warp, but I haven’t had mine in the hot summer sun yet, so I’m not speaking from experience. I have heard of windshields working like a magnifying glass and doing damage. I’m wondering how long the bike has to sit in the sun before it starts to burn. In any case, the bike should be covered when it is parked at home.

Hi guys!!! I am new to this forum, and relatively new PCX owner. First of all, big hello to everyone, hope you are well.
My first experience with GIVI stuff is not that good. I have ordered tall GIVI windscreen, thinking that its a same one from Maddiedog's how-to post. Well, at least that one was pictured on their website http://www.racing-planet.de/windshield- ... anguage=en. The one i've got (pictured below) is slightly shorter i would say. I can see well over it and i am not complaining about the quality or design, just I wanted to get the wind off my face, so i can wear 3/4 or chin up helmets even in winter time. With this windshield, you get some of the wind off your chest, but you get the full fury on your helmet, so its even worse for me now. Now i am not sure if this is the same one, but someone mentioned not being able to see over it, and i am not that tall 5ft10', plus i cant find photos of it anywhere. And it looks more curved than the one pictured on the website. If you are ordering from this website, i thought you should know. And if anyone wants to change the tall one for this one, let me know

This is what my tall screen looks like. I'm 5'3" and I got my seat lowered, so I look through the screen. I put small bits of window tint on the bottom lower parts of the screen to keep the sun from being reflected up into my eyes.

We don't have the tall one on ours and wish that we had, but we solved the problem just the same. Looking at the screen on Baskoza's scooter, it looks a little different from maddiedogs. Maybe they changed the design.

That monster does look just like the screen. It would be nice if the screen came with those extra hands for carrying things.

It's true! It is ugly, but you get past that real fast when you reap the rewards of the tall screen protection.

I also love my tall Givi, cut down 1.5" (I'm 5-8)
BUT I found I had a hard time turning the handlebars enough to lock the front wheel~!? The notches in the screen don't really seem to line up with the mirrors... it took a long time to finally find the "sweet spot" but I did manage. Anyone else find this problem??
