Using Grocery Pick-Up during pandemic

Ordered on-line (color photos w/prices) a couple days ago - paid by card - made an appointment - young lady hauled the order out to my truck right on time.
Krogers has a dedicated parking area for store pick-up.
Worked well for me - might not be walking into the store again any time soon. Might not be walking into any populated store for awhile!
Store is currently waiving the $4.95 fee for this service.

Doing very limited drive-thrus and take-outs, as well.
Some benefits to living in rural Midwest….26 cases identified in my county to date. (0 fatalities)
Plenty of family walks in mostly deserted State park.

Scooter rides through the boonies planned for 2 sunrises next week.

Excellent content in that picture.

In my state the deaths are approaching 1,200.

A new Governor's order goes into effect tonight.

Masks (or face coverings over the nose/mouth) are to be worn in public where social distancing is not doable, in grocery stores, and in stores that are considered essential, with the exception of infants and people with medical conditions and a Doctor's note.

I hope we learned something from what happened in 1918. If not . . . then shame on us. What comes around goes around. :?

I haven’t gone into a grocery store in over 18 months. All my stuff is delivered by the local grocer ( Publix) for $4 a trip, they never miss, and keep me in touch while they’re shopping, in case we need to do a substitute. It works perfectly…They call me when they arrive here, put all the bags in front of my door, and leave, there is no contact with the delivery person.

I should be one of those who orders groceries online, but I just can't get use to that idea...though it isn't a bad idea. I grew up in a world where we went shopping for our own groceries, and we paid for them right there.

My son orders online and has EVERYTHING delivered. We use to call that lazy.

Still, it is a good idea, especially for those of us who are in the vulnerable category.

I don't like buying anything online.....I prefer to "see, touch, feel, smell" what I'm buying

I haven't ordered anything online since my "Cheeky Seat cover" which was almost 3 years ago

One of my favorite things to do is to go to a store with a certain item in mind, then comparing the price at that store to amazon.com. If amazon is cheaper I bring it to their attention, knowing that I can get the item delivered the next day. Most of the time the store will price match because they know that a small profit is better than no profit. There have been a few occasions where I went ahead and ordered the item from amazon right in front of the sales person. Amazon is a tool. Use it to your best advantage.
