What is the best battery for a pcx 2010? Only managed to see that the yuasa YTZ7S battery seems to be a market leader? But id like to know if im being bouled into name brands if not needed? To be honest mine has lasted around 4 years, until a recent theft attempt left a few glitches, i changed the spark plug yesterday and the battery died on me, removed it and found what looked like corrosion, need to get one and nearest and cheapest so far for yuasa is £79

Clean the corrosion off, clean the whole battery, clean inside the battery box, clean the terminals and connectors.
It'll be fine.

Change the bike I say. And maybe the garage its in just to be on the safe side.

clean off all the crud on the battery....and the battery compartment....Bring the battery indoors where its nice and warm...hook it up to a smart battery charger - like an opt mate ...for a couple of days to see if its holding a charge ok then if its fine refit to bike and use some battery terminal grease on etc battery terminals ensuring they are nice and tight and see how your bike performs....Also look at where you store your bike...Is it damp and if so how can you stop the damp/wet ...If you dont use the bike very often and in particular throughout the cold and wet weather consider connecting it up to a smart charger when not in use,

Make sure you have connected it up correctly .... check spark plug is on tight then :-
Turn on ignition but don’t start up .... while ignition is turn turn throttle to full several times .... SLOWLY .... this resets the throttle position sensor on the fuel injection .... then turn off ignition ..... then try starting as normal

Did you charge the battery fully before using it?

Good idea ——- some battery suppliers don’t send them out fully charged

Worth trying what Yorkie150 mentioned above (similar to the procedure for a flodded engine but that also involves other things). What does the battery measure when placed in and a while after (drain/short). Any error codes shown on the dash, does the fuel pump kick in when the ignition is turned on?

good sticky copper grease. no more problems there
