Honda Luggage

Post by Yorkie150 »

can anyone advise on who manufactures the top boxes for Honda ?

Im going to fit a Honda OEM rear rack and have been told that a SHAD box will fit directly onto it without an adapter plate ?

Is this correct ?

thanks in advance

Many Honda top boxes are Shad rebrands, but I believe the 35l Honda accessory top box compatible with the Honda accessory PCX rack isn't one of them.
If you compare the Honda mount plate with the Shad one they are completely different.
To guarantee compatibility with a Shad box its better to get the cheaper Shad mount kit imo.

Looking at the locking positions at the rear of the racks, Honda is an "innie", Shad is an "outie"
Don't look to be at all compatible to me.

I don't have a Shad but when my Givi arrived it had adapter plates, which I guess means it could fit different racks. I know that others have installed either Shad or Givi on Honda racks, so I am guessing that each company has adapters for other brands. You might be lucky and hear from one of the many riders here who have a Honda rack but not a Honda box.
Currently own:
Red 2013 Honda PCX150

Givi tall windshield & tailbox - Lots of extra lights
Custom seat from Thailand - Bad Boy Airhorn
Takegawa Lowering Shocks - Michelin City Grip Tires
Headlight assy upgraded to LEDs w/HS5 main bulbs
NCY variator, drive face, and rollers
