I am glad that someone actually appreciates us. We served. Many of the present generations have only played video games, and gotten "Participation" awards. What will the next generation learn from that?

I have 3 grandsons who are in the military now. They are proud to be serving, just as I was.
Currently own:
Red 2013 Honda PCX150

Givi tall windshield & tailbox - Lots of extra lights
Custom seat from Thailand - Bad Boy Airhorn
Takegawa Lowering Shocks - Michelin City Grip Tires
Headlight assy upgraded to LEDs w/HS5 main bulbs
NCY variator, drive face, and rollers

Respectively remembered . . ..

"I don't know what I've been told . . .."

Gave it a go but my tour was cut short due to medical issues. Honorably discharged. Still have my uniform but the two pair of boots were worn out and tossed in the '70s. Got a lot of use out of them. ;)

As for being appreciated, my platoon members appreciated each other , and we let it go at that. Still do.

State-side - I was lucky because I out-processed from Vietnam in Wash. state, rather than California, and flew as a new civilian at 1AM out of SeaTac... after placing every stitch of my newly issued winter Army uniform in the airport men's room waste baskets.
Returning to work at my hospital job in Mass. in Feb - skinny & with a dark tan and short hair - caused some flack. Was glad when I finally lost my tan. Many others were treated much worse.

Interesting, how things have changed.
Life's too short to grouse about ancient history.
If called upon - I'm sure the kids today would not disappoint.

My teenage daughter is mad that I threw away that nice new winter great coat the Army had just issued me.
