Freezing temps this morning.

Winter is coming early. It was fairly warm up until about a week ago. Slam dunk here we are again . . ..

Pic was taken just this past January.

Will that stop me from riding? Absolutely not . . . as long as the road surface is good to go.

I don't ride in the cold anymore. But back "in the day" I rode my BSA home from college on a cold December day. I was dressed for it. Even so - when I pulled in front of my parents garage, I went to put the side stand down but had so little strength in my arms & legs that the bike just flopped over with me on it. Lucky I had already switched it off and my boot was above the exhaust pipe.

Well, it was great outside yesterday, until it wasn't. Rain came in last night. Now it is nice again but the promise is cold nights are about to hit us around Tuesday.

Sun, Cold, gusty, flurries today (30's now). Temps falling. Freezing tonight (20's). Yup, Cold came Too Soon.

Past November, late afternoon (temp mid to low 40's). Peaceful. Sun going down.

WN - Same here (less the flurries). . .. Just got back from a ride and it's 37 F.. Really windy too. Took some photos. Definitely paid heed to the wind gusts so as not to have the scoot knocked down.

View off Cornfield Point. Years ago there used to be a Lightship stationed out there. The LV-51 had been hit by a barge and sent to the bottom but there were other lightships also. Here's a link to a bit of history there. http://www.uscglightshipsailors.org/cor ... istory.htm

The point of land (the original Cornfield Point) I took this photo from had extended further but it was wiped out in the Hurricane of 1938.

Really windy. You can see the flag at Knollwood Beach. Long Island is clearly visible as well . . ..

A view looking up the Connecticut River and the Railroad Bridge is off in the distance. Beyond that is I-95. No more leaves on the trees . . ..

There used to be a great restaurant years ago called the "Dock n Dine" off to the right in this photo. Some HVAC components remain. The parking lot is a hangout for sea gulls.

Still crazy after all these years . . ..

Was anxiously awaiting Spring when these were taken almost 20 years ago. Notice some old shoveled snow still piled at the end of the driveway.

And here I am now . . . still awaiting Spring.

At the turn of the "The Century" we were all in panic about YTK computer problems and figured we'd party like it was 1999. Next stop was going to be the "end of the world" in 2012. Little did we know the world would be changing in more ways than one. Wow . . ..

The news here has been reporting about those fires more often that last few days.

We don't have a problem with the fires, apart from the air quality being nearly as bad as Beijing.

The only other major problem is politicians still denying we have a climate catastrophe.

Noticed kind of a big circular pattern on the ice way out yonder . . .. Looks like people have been there.

Invigorating ride that day on the Forza eh? If you ever get a new one you'll be able to do it with ABS.

I've continued riding with recent temps into the 30's and low 40's here and fighting the wind just to impress. Simple minds . . . simple pleasures. And the rigor is good for longevity from what I've read.

Have seen a good number of serious bicycle riders out though. They look like they are on a mission.

When I see this on the rails at the local pier I do hesitate to ride on two wheels though. Better to take a walk . . ..

I'm backing up a bit, and "looking" at the Chilly views ya'll pictured here. I'm feeling Cold. That brisk fresh air makes yer nose run and breathing fogs yer screen. ...ahhh but it's soo Invigorating! Sniff wipe.
I'm seeing a cooked Turkey too... is it that time, already?
No warm day rides left. Our warm sun is done. That was fast. Sigh.
Here's another chillin' moment near a golf course taken 3 years ago. Swirls frozen from gusty winds overnight. Love ice skating too...oh well
