Need tall leather boots 14/50 US/EURO size

I need some 3 season tall, leather boots with quick release system.
If I have to bend over and fight lacing a tall boot - I am too d__ned inclined to skip wearing them!
I have good sturdy & tall leather boots for winter riding - that are a pain to put on, but I do anyway.

I know the protective value of good tall boots for even my almost daily tame 35>40MPH country road/city street rides.
From my feet up I am always in good gear (armored knee & hip Kevlar jeans, leather gloves with snug wrist straps, armored riding jacket and full/face/modular helmet)

I need to get my feet into gear which I will actually take the time to put on for every ride.

@$150>@$200 range please.
I would not be doing much actual walking in them.
I wear a 14 boot - which is a 49/50 Euro size.

Looking at these.
Won't break the bank - leather, high top, reflective, easy on/off.
I don't ride a SilverWing on I-70 - but these are going to be better than low quarter shoes, or sneakers!

Always had really good experience with Revzilla for gear and parts.
Very easy returns, if quality or fit is wrong.
(Be surprised how many scooters can't deal with my size 14 feet. The LIKE & the Liberty have plenty of room down there!)

Anyone have experience with these?

Size 14 is hard to find but when I bought my size 10 boots I went to leatherup.com. they have all sorts of boots at reasonable prices.

https://www.leatherup.com/collections/m ... t_sizes=14

I notice that they have some boots that side zip. Maybe that is what you are looking for??

Good luck with whatever you get . . .. Fit is key! ;)

I've still got my old Corbin Boots. Believe it or not. They were kind of "Country Western" looking but did the job. They had a "hook and loop" secured flap that ran up the inside leg and a concealed zipper. Easy to get on and off. I only use them now when I break out the black Harley leather jacket. It's fun to relive my youth . . . not that I ever grew up.

I honestly don't know if there is anything like them on the market anymore . . .. :?

On another note, I've always had good luck with Wolverines and Doc Martins. They fit good and last and they have a variety to choose from. I found 6 inch boots are ample but you can get higher ones.

https://www.drmartens.com/us/en/c/mens- ... tSize%3A14

Each to their own . . . read the reviews. The Docs aren't always perfect. Some are still made in England. Can be a bit difficult to "break in" but overall decent reviews. I've got a pair of "Vintage" on my short list for Christmas. 8)

Wolverines I've had wear out the soles before the uppers. Usually a crack in the flex point of the sole. It's only a problem when you step into a puddle. Otherwise you can kick them down the road pretty far.

You can get motorcycle specific riding boots but at the end of the day I think just getting some good boots is more practical. And you can use them anywhere other than just riding. Your money will go further. Wolverine and Docs both sell up to and including size 14. See the sites for details. :geek:

Just my two cents worth . . ..

The nice thing about riding scooters is you don't get that shift lever mark on the left toe. :D

I have very expensive/good boots. Use them in winter.
But need tall easy on, no laces, pretty good boots for other 3 seasons.
Leather, tall, easy on and quick closures.
No laces. Will never walk anywhere in them.
Rules out 95% of boots.

I am sure you have heard of these, but I thought I would just remind you.

When I was in the Coast Guard we had to be able to get into our flight gear at a moment's notice. Every third or fourth day we stayed at the base hanger all night, sleeping in the bunk room. Our radio operator was actively monitoring the communications for calls for help from ships and boats, or from our main command center that monitored radio broadcasts farther out, such as cargo ships in trouble.

It takes time to put on flight boots, so we purchased or fabricated boot zippers that converted our laced boots to quick zip ones. You might consider these. Believe me when I say that the ones made of leather or combat webbing hold up to a lot of stress.

Good to know Mel . . .. And a good story to match. :D

Fish, sounds like you are prepared for every other occasion but there are those times when you just want to glide to the ride with no fuss .

Doc Martens have something new that doesn't really have any reviews yet but does feature a zipper for easier use. I think the laces are just for show and no go but don't quote me. Very basic construction and the price reflects it but since they are unlined you can be cooler in Summer and wear heavier socks for Winter. You can get them in black or white. The black ones are called "Brando" . . . go figure. 8)

Spend upwards and get quality (lasting quality) - get what you pay for. My input.
Mr. fish, You buy where I buy - Revzilla.
Then you must have seen these newer boots from Daytona: (I likes 'em - Want!)

Watch Anthony's Presentation too 8)

Be Warned: Anthony states that todays Newer Daytona boots run one size larger. That puts fish at 13.

I have no experience with those Fly boots you pictured above. They certainly look a lot like Tour Master's<< I have a pair and hardly ever wear them.

Quick on and off you say. Hmm...that's not always a good thing  But, you know that already ;)
Other than Engineer style...I'm at a loss.
Would A few Buckles be ok by you? Then maybe more doors will open

To me, easy on and off implies that he doesn't want to spend a lot of time putting them on, so that could imply zippers or buckles, but no laces.

Right Mel. Then those newer and lighter weight, air filtrating Daytona's I pictured would be a contender :P that's IF one wants them and can spend the bigger bucks. I have foot/toe/nerve damage. So, I'm liking them 8)

No laces folks. Understood. Happy shopping fish ;)

You see, $400 is what most of my buddies pay for their cars.
I was hoping not to have to take out a car loan for a pair of boots.
If I bought a $400 pair of scootering boots - my wife would put dried flowers in them and put them on the dinner table.

I'm liking the $150 ones.
Just gotta pull the trigger.....but, you'll recall - I'm a conchie.

Fish, you haven't said how tall the boots need to be. Here is a pair that would probably do the trick.
