2019 PCX Muffler on an earlier PCX, tested yet?

Has anyone test fitted the 2019 PCX muffler on older pcx models? According to publications, it's suppose to have better flow. Also, it being an oem part, it should be quieter.

So, I bought an 2019 OEM exhaust and it almost fits. The issue is that two of the swingarm bolts don't line up properly and the only one that does line up needs a spacer. Will install in within a month and report back.

Okay, but why you want to do that though?

According to Honda it suppose to have higher flow. I wan't higher flow but not the higher noise level of the aftermarket muffler. So, I'm gonna test too see if there is an actual difference, then decide if it's worth the effort of making the mounting hardware. I guess it's odd.

That's a good project, but I fear that the capital you will spend might not be worth whatever performance effect it'll have.

There are slightly modified stock exhaust being sold here in Thai, you might wanna try and find one there. More airflow, a little bit audible than the original, but not loud like the aftermarket ones.

hello .. you have a great exhaust here as they say almost original on the outside but very good especially for those who don’t have the pcx with the original cylinder capacity ..

Thanks for the recommendation. I did a quick google search, but couldn't find it. I found something similar on ebay though.

I have looked at that one before, was just not sure if it performed better than the original. I have looked at the M-Factory one before, it looks promising, although i'm not sure of the sound level, 87 db. More specifically i'm not sure what the OEM muffler is rated at and how it compares to these two mufflers. Thanks for the suggestion.

Have you see this one exhaust?

I followed your guys suggestion and bought an aftermarket exhaust. It is about as quiet as the OEM exhaust and has a bit more power. They claim one more HP, but dyno says eh. There is some performance increase in the Highway, but nothing crazy. I has no catalytic converter and that's a bummer. I would of preferred that it had a catalytic converter like some aftermarket converters do, but o wheal. Other noticeable effects from the muffler is a bit more vibration of the frame at some engine RPMs.

The exhaust is from webike.

That looks great. The price is a quite high I think, but we pay to play right? lol

I'm quite not sure why would it affect frame vibration though. Is it significantly lighter than the original?

Yeah, it was pricier than other options, but it does look nice. It's kind of stock looking with some stainless steel parts. The site also had sound db readings, for most exhaust, that I could compare to others on the webike site. I was looking for the lowest db readings and lowest price. They also had a dyno graph showing the power gains. db readings that are required by the Japanese government, as such I'm guessing that they measured it the same way.

As for the weight it feels about the same, maybe lighter. Maybe since it's a two piece exhaust, it allows some flex. I will check all the bolts to make sure that they are properly tighten. Next time I remove it I will use a scale to compare the weight of each.

Maybe you could mount rubber bushings between muffler and swing arm to eliminate vibration?
