On my other scooters the Michelin City Grip seemed to be the tire of choice. What is the tire of choice for the PCX?

And what is the best source?

Many of us love our Michelin City Grips and could not imagine using any other tire. Their grip is fantastic, and wear quite well.

I have found Revzilla.com has the best prices for them.

Online- the best prices and service is probably from Revzilla or Bikebandit.

The downside of buying online is dealer will charge you extra to mount it vs buying it from them.

I would only either get Michelin or Pirelli. IRC is not a bad tire at all but the price difference is small vs the famous big brands and hardly worth saving considering how long the tires should be on the bike.

I have only used the Pirelli brand on a scooter and enjoy it a lot.

I have not checked recently but when I purchased my MCGs from Revzilla.com late last year the shipping was free. It would be worthwhile to compare pricing with shipping calculated in for both websites.

Also, once mine came in I called around for best prices for mounting. Then I put the new tire on the back area of my bike and rode over to their shop. Some places want your business enough that they will give you a good deal on mounting just to get you into their showroom. Prices for mounting in my area ranged from $20 up to $60 (per tire). When I called them I told them I had a scooter and I told them I had a new tire I needed to mount. That way, they have an idea of how easy or hard it would be. Mounting a tire on a scooter is much easier than mounting them on many motorcycles.

Heidenau k66 might be what you are looking for, have them both front and back and I very much like them. Especially when the leaves start to fall in combination with rain. In dry weather I do prefer the city grips but guess you can't have it all. Don't know if they are good for gravel though I try to avoid that when riding .

Bought a pair of MCG’s from Revzilla for $107.52....best price I could find.

In my experience, these smaller wheels/tires don’t require balancing but this is my first PCX. But what is the wisdom of the list?

Never had a PCX tyre balanced, never had a problem.
City Grip a great tyre, also the new Pirelli Angel Scooter tyres getting good reviews.

I switched to City Grips on my 2013.

DW has OEM tyres on her 2015 and I feel much more stable on my bike!

Just installed the city grip on the back of my 2018. The original OEM IRC had 6500 miles on it... unfortunately it wore unevenly, having a bold spot in one part of the tire.

The Michelin seemed to be just as soft as the IRC.

I very much doubt that one can feel the difference in traction, otherwise people would be falling to tell the difference... I think it's all psychological.

IRC soft? - I thought they were fairly hard thus lasted a long time and why some thought they lacked grip (I never had issues with them in all weathers, and still on the original front near 20,000 miles)

PCX oem IRC fronts last forever, the rears are made of cheese and wear extremely quickly.

I found the stopping power of the IRC to be lacking. I was also afraid of slipping when I cornered. When I switched my wife's bike over to MCG she was amazed at how much better the bike handled and stopped. Then I switched my bike over to MCGs and what a difference! Others here may or may not agree with me, but for me there are few tires as good as these in both handling and durability.

Only problem I had with IRC oem PCX tyres was the wear rate on the rear. They gripped just fine, wet or dry.
