You know there's a weight limit for the rear carrier?

That is a lot weight. A 12 pack is kind of heavy . . .. :o

Watch out for the bumps. :geek:

Somehow I keep hearing rattle, rrrrrattttlllleeeeee, bish, bash, bong, scrape, glurk, glurk, glurk, glurk . . .. :o o_O :?

Youthful exhuburance vs old age and wisdom. ;)

It was just being used as a display piece right? Grab what you like and move to the food line perhaps? :D

LOL, yeah, now that you mention it, I do recall that there was a weight limit spec....
Shad USA says 6.6 lbs, but Shad Euro says 8.8 lbs. I figure I had around 34 lbs in there. (Yep, it was all actually purchased in one trip.)
Honestly, I haven't really worried about the weight limit spec too much. I just put stuff in there and drive off. Mind you, the grocery & liquor store are less than 3 mi away on smooth paved roads, so I'm not adventure riding for several weeks with 50 lbs of gear back in there. And I've noticed that if you lock the box, it seems to become more secure on the base. But maybe that's just my delusion?

Has anyone had their top box jettison due to weight overloading? o_O

I look at what riders in Southeast Asia put on their bikes and I suspect that they have gone beyond that weight limit many times, so I wouldn't worry about throwing some beer in the back and riding off into the sunset. ;)

I suspect that weight limit is so Honda can simply shrug at you when you 'overload' it and something breaks.

You could just as high with some legal Colorado weed in one trouser pocket - without the vomiting.
