Convenience/bag hook

Post by Dudley »

On the powerbypcx website they show one that clamps around the handlebar.
Anyone ever seen one like that for sale in the US.
I can only find the ones that screw into the handlebar brace.

Linky?

I'd never advise anyone to attach anything weighted to the handlebars, it'll have adverse effects on steering.

Would never carry anything significant there,
But the other day, my underseat was full and all I needed was a couple bags of cat treats. Less than a pound for a five minute ride I think it could handle.also could be a handy spot to put my helmet since leaving on my flat floorboard is no longer an option.

When I’m out and about I always lock the helmet under the seat. If I’ve been shopping, and the under-seat bucket is full, I hang the helmet on the hook under the seat. My chin strap is short, so I always have to use the strap that came with the bike to secure the helmet. Of course the hook is useless when I’m riding, but it’s nice to be able to use it when I’m parked.

If it's just something light, you can do a slipknot around the center area of the handlebars, using the plastic bag handle and bag itself to form the slipknot. ;)

Okay I'll admit it, I also think one of those hooks in blue would look cool on my black scoot!
Also when I visit my mom on the weekend my underseat is full of clothes and spare shoes.
Guess I can just order one from Thailand.

Sorry, don't know how to post links from my iPad.
The site is powerbypcx.com
I believe they are made by a company named bikers.or maybe bikers accessories was the heading.
Once again, sorry, the site is in French.

This is it I believe:-

http://www.powerbypcx.com/achat-accroch ... 11492.html

Not sure I'd use it though - what's wrong with a fold-up mini-rucksack like this :-

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HANDY-SACK-FO ... 3cce59aafe

A rucksack will keep the load far more stable, and as maddiedog said will not affect the steering.

I use this one from Kitaco, its mounted on the centre of the handlebars so weight is no issue,i regularly carry up to 2-3 bags of shopping on there when under seat storage is full and never had an issue with it also handy for a helmet when parked up temporarily..

Thanks whitenoise,

After going to that link click on "Bikers Honda PCX"
It's about half way down, comes in multiple colors. And can be fastened right in the center of handlebars.
Yes a rucksack works, if I carry ir all the time, and I do have one, but that hook
Would really help me out.
Pcxdemon, thanks, I have seen that one. Not as cool looking, and I am not sure how it attaches.
You you, funny, used to be that way, but mom has cancer and so I am just trying to spend as much time there as I can, ya know?
Oops, yes tomtic, that's the one!
Seems like an item that should be readily available, wonder why I can't find it here.really think my scoot would look good with that
Some matching break levers, and passenger foot pegs.

Thanks everyone for your help.

We call them "curry hooks" as they are ideal for takeaways.

I miss the passing of wind up windows in cars. If you removed and re-positioned the handle they also made perfect curry hooks. Electric windows are an incomplete design in my view if you spill your bhuna prawn.

Dudley, I'm sorry to read about your Mom. I'm sure she appreciates everything you're doing for her. Appears to me that she raised a fine son :) Love, is all ya need. Be strong, and take care of You too.

Okay, back on topic...Yep that is the one I thought you were interested in Dudley and somehow the link I posted didn't take you there  Sorry 'bout that. Thank you tomtic for fixing that for me! ;) So I take it that the Bikers hook fits anywhere on the bars then? Cool. I like the hook that Pcxdemon linked us too, very clean looking. The one you like Dudley looks sporty. It's all in what You want and like :)
Honda should've made "more" accessories available by now. S I G H
