The commute is fairly mixed. 30, 50 and more 30mph zones. About 5 miles is 70mph highway which is ok but not the best bit of the ride to work.doletotodole wrote:I must say I really envy your ride in England, actually everywhere except my area. You can get on motorways, 68 miles is really nothing on motorways.
Hi Markmarkcap wrote:Hey Carl, cheers from PA ! I'm new to the PCX. Great thread here. Thanks for posting. It most certainly is a great commuter.
But how do you manage without having a rear cargo box? I can't travel without one! It's as necessary as a tall screen.!
Cheers, just looked up some roads in PA. Maidstone Avenue to be precise... How much space do you guys have?!?! Would love to explore the USA by bike.
I was advised by a biker colleague at work not to get a top box at first. Said it would look silly and interfere with the centre of gravity. I travel light.
To work under the seat I have:
Work shoes
Work trousers
Waterproof trousers
Waterproof overcoat
Disc lock
Work laptop/charger
Work phone/my phone.
If I'm staying overnight I use a bungee to tie down a backpack. It all fits... just!
Safe riding!
