The Dealers had the Bike and were communicating with Honda throughout it, they had to strip the Engine but didn't find anything unusual, and then Honda told them to replace the Crankshaft... i'm not sure even where about the rattle is coming from, sometimes it sounds like the front, but sometimes it sounds like the rear left, so i'm not sure.

I'd consider a constant rattle that the dealer/honda can't fix a good enough reason for an exchange or money back. Why should an end user suffer from something like that.

I'd return her to stock first, stops them using aftermarket mods as an excuse.

It's just the grips on mine...
i'll put the stock Mirrors and Brake Levers back on,
shame I got those Wheel Decals from Italy though which costed a bit,
that's IF they replace it anyway, still waiting for a reply.

First thing to go with me would be stock grips + remove the central bar. Then see if the noise vanishes. Either way good luck !

Find a private road somewhere where you can ride without a helmet. You might hear it better.
Don't blame me if you fall off and hurt your head though. ;)

I think the rattle is a new feature on latest (2015 and newer) PCX models. As I mentioned before, I got my money back and I'm no longer a PCX owner. But I noticed that I see more and more new PCX on the road with this rattle issue. And since It was so annoying, the sound is literaly carved in my brain. So I can recognize a PCX passing by even with my eyes closed, just by hearing the loud rattle

lol thanks for that, I asked about a replacement but was told to take it back to the Dealer (nearer to me) but that the Dealer told the Dealers I actually bought it from that they can't find the issue and that it's running as it should... even though they said they heard it between 25-35mph and would sort it for me, hence then having it for 5 weeks and striping the engine and replacing the crankshaft..... if there was nothing wrong and it's running as it should then what was the 5 weeks for and the replacement parts? as it sounds exactly the same now as it did before they had it! takes the p*ss.... I want to get another Bike but i'm not sure, i've gone through so many and my 2013 PCX sounded nice, smooth, but this 2015 one just rattles and it's annoying, especially passed parked Cars or Lanes etc (smaller spaces)... I don't know any other Bikes like the PCX though, I need an automatic but not a Scooter than looks like all the other usual Scooters, the PCX look's the best in my opinion, other than the other big Scooter types but they're too big, and again, normal Scooters just look horrible.

For the first time in ages I road in this morning without my foam ear-plugs (on purpose) and was disappointed with the amount of rattle my PCX has - never had any noises from an abused and pushed hard Honda Lead used for CBT training, yer a £3k bike seems to suffer from being too plastic'ee. Not sure where it's coming from but every now and then I get a rattle from something at the front (think it's a wire harness knocking the side of the plastics) and this rattle from the rear when riding (doesn't do it when on the stand).

My personal opinion is that the whole unpleasant noise is coming from radiator fan...on the right side of bike.
I think next week to take it off and check what happening with him.
The fan must have liners that are deformed from constant rotation....
Most likely these liners are made of weaker material.
I think I'll make new ones in bronze material and see the difference.
Wish me luck :D

Is there a serious flaw on the 2015 125 engine on the PCX?

Just of late I have read quite a few posts concerning rattles and buzzing noises at relatively low mileages affecting the 2015 model which I have. All rather worrying!

2015 PCX, 2,800miles and not a rattle. Just saying, people post about negative stuff, not the positive.

Well, your lucky then aren't you, as quite a few of us on this forum have PCX's with rattles and other noises. Why should we not post and ask for advice or see if other owners experience the same - which it seems they do.

You misunderstand my post Iceman, I am not bragging I am calming Honda Cubs fears that the PCX is flawed. Their is no perfect creation on Earth ( bar Columbo )

I admit I am concerned that the 2015 125 engine might have a serious issue. So far I've read crankshaft replacement and I believe bearing replacement on a few engines at relatively low mileages doesn't sound too impressive to me from a company like Honda. I agree that no perfect creation is on Earth, but I wouldn't expect possible serious engine defects on a virtually brand new bike in this day and age. I'm not saying the newer engines are definitely flawed, but I've read a number of noise related concerns from posters that have bought the 2015 PCX that wasn't present on the pre ESP engines. I avoided the earlier PCX because of centre-stand woes, but I'm beginning to wonder if I have jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire.

For every negative view expressed on this forum they would probably represent less than 1% of the owners who have had no problems with their late model PCX. I'm approaching 8,000km (5,000 miles) on mine and it has been trouble free from day one. Obviously there is no perfect mechanical device, but the odds are well stacked in your favor that you won't have a problem. A confession here, I'm a Honda fan ownig a Honda powered pressure spray and a lightweight Honda lawnmower which is 15 years old, and still starts first pull. Never had a mechanical problem with either of them.

This was the point I was trying to make, I get how pissed off you must be to own a PCX that sounds like a Metallica concert gone wrong, and I really hope someone finds the solution once and for all. Baring addon devices, the only thing really left is the radiator fan blade catching that I can think of.

I'm not sure what to do with mine... (rattle when the throttle is pulled)

the Dealers I actually bought it off (Hunts) had told me that the Dealers that had the Bike (Thunder Road) have told them that there was no problem before or after the Service, i'm guessing they meant after the replacement parts went in.... yet when I got it back, the Bike sounded exactly the same, even though Thunder Road told me that they had 2 specialists ride it and they said it was running as it should :-/ so again, what was the point in the 5 weeks and replacement parts, as it's exactly the same as before they had it!

I've also asked about a replacement but Hunts just say that Honda will contact me directly and to take it back to Thunder Road, if Thunder Road admitted to hearing the rattle between 25-35mph and actually kept it in for 5 weeks to replace parts and so on, but sent it back to me exactly the same way and are now telling Hunts that it's running as it should, then I don't see the point in Thunder Road having it again, they obviously don't know what they're looking for, and even admitted they aren't sure where the noise is coming from....

I'm probably just left to doing what I was originally going to do and buy a louder Exhaust to drown out the rattle, but still trying to look for a decent sounding Exhaust at a decent price, seen a lot for around £200, I don't want to be paying more than that just to drown out a noise, fair enough I want a louder Exhaust anyway as I think the ones on the Honda are too quiet, especially in my area with Cars pulling out on me etc and some saying they didn't see/hear me, it's just getting annoying!

Only 2 I can find for the 125cc 2015 model for around £200:
