Strictly speaking you don't buy it, you pay for a licence to use it and it remains the property of Microsoft.
Me I don't use Windows.
If it wasn't for my wife's refusal to re-learn how to do things with non-MS software my house would be a totally MS free zone.
As it is there's just the one PC with an infection of Windows, all the rest run Linux.
You run Linux? Awesome. We use mostly RHEL at work, but have some Ubuntu. I have my mom running Ubuntu, because she breaks Macs and gets viruses on Windows. I don't run any Linux on any of my main machines anymore, I end up tinkering with the OS more than actually using it.

What distro do you use?

I'm still using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.
Still trying to make my mind up what to use next.
Probably going to be Xubuntu 12.04 LTS
I have used Linux exclusively since early 2007 and before that dual-booted from late 2004ish.

I just use Windows for gaming on my "big" computer. My netbook can't run on Linux (damned graphics card drivers) and run Windows 7, but for all the rest I use Linux Mint.

It probably can you just need to install and configure the right distribution.

My latest Gadget:
This is the new Sony HDR AS-15. Just got it and made a quick video. I was contemplated getting another Hero 2, but like the fact that this can do 720p @120fps. Thats double what the Hero 2 does @ that res!
This sample was all done on the AS-15, then the video was transmitted to my iPad with the built in wifi and IOS APP, then further slowed with the SloPro app.
For low light high speed, I wasn't expecting much better quality. I'll have to do an outdoor head to head against the Hero 2

I just ordered my first tablet! An Android 4.0 Zenithink C93. Cheap as chips (<$200) and has hdmi and 2 usb ports (didnt want 4.1 as there are usb probs with jelly bean at the moment, bit it is upgradable). Doesnt have GPS but I have several GPS's already incl my iPhone.

I won't bother either, my 4S is more than good enough. A whole bunch of my friends are acting as though it's revolutionary. Sheep.

I'm happy with my 4s and won't get a 5. But I'm ecstatic with my cheap android tablet. Only issues was battery drain but just fixed that with a firmware update. Next phone willl be android I suspect.

Its a zenithink C93. see http://www.zenithink.com . For a few $$ more they have a C97 with better cameras and screen or a C94 Quad core coming soon. It doesnt have GPS or 3 or 4g but my phone does all that. Im on 4.0.3 ICS but can upgrade to 4.1.1 Jelly Bean but am waiting for USB OTG and Flash issues to be resolved before upgrading. I wouldnt get the older single core cpu models they have such as C91 as you will get screen lag.

if you have a 4S, there is no point in getting a 5, a friend did and she said its the same but a bigger screen.

I went from iPhone 3GS to Galaxy S3, big jump but loving it.

The 2 gadget i'm looking for at the moment is a clock (preferably digital) for the PCX and waiting for christmas to buy a Canon 650D SLR. Had the 1000D and a Panasonic GH2 (awesome for vids), got rid of both but missing the SLR quality images, will also get a flashgun and the 50mm lense.

Lastly, selling my Asus U33J Bamboo laptop for a under £400 laptop with a decent graphics card to play Heroes of Newerth, have a PC to do that but like to play when I'm over at my brothers or in the living room so my missus can feed me whilst I play
