I am very interested in your thoughts concerning comparisons between the Vespa and the Honda?
It's kinda like comparing apples and oranges,
because the GT was a "large frame" modern Vespa with a carburetor.

The power seemed similar, but the Vespa was about 50 lbs heavier and seemed to have a higher center of gravity.
The seat height was about the same (both a bit tall for me), but I'm finding the Honda much more manageable.

The brakes were better on the Vespa and they needed to be (it was very easy to go fast).
The Honda is way prettier (especially in white).

The Vespa had more of a solid "built to last a lifetime" feel to it, which became tragic toward the end,
Honda has an excellent dealer network here, while Vespa now has no authorized service for 2 hrs in any direction.

more information please, noticed the lock and thought it to be there for a good reason.
Mopeds are super popular here and Vespas are way cooler, so they kept trying to steal our scooters by the techniques they use on mopeds.

One popular technique is to jerk hard on the handlebars to try to break through the steering lock.
This doesn't work on a GT or GTS (husband's), as they proved repeatedly.
The last time they tried it (harder than usual) they broke everything inside the steering column,
including the electronic theft protection (you need a properly coded key to start the engine on a Vespa).

By the time I traded it in, I had a lovely Artago handlebar lock on the GT.

first I've heard of this kind of defeat to the steering lock, I wonder if PCX riders are vulnerable to this. youyou she don't care about your wood

Excellent
It sounds like you are not a big stealer of mopeds. :)
