Wow, totally awesome. Here's the actual page for that:

It's priced at 126000 yen, or nearly 1600 USD. Damn.

Perhaps, but it'd keep me almost dry in the light rain we usually get here.
Too bad it's craaaazy expensive. It would probably completely kill the good gas mileage of the PCX too...

Apparently they sell a topcase thingy for it too:

That is pretty cool
Not sure how practical it is as I can't remember ever being rained on from above on a bike

I like it
how much weight do you think it adds to the bike? Do you think it would be (fairly) easy to put on/off? Windy weather? I'm not a top case fan but on this covered PCX it works for me....nice size too.

I'm sure the bike would be at least 100lbs heavier, and basically like a giant sail in heavy winds. It's probably not too easy to get on or off too -- looks like it mounts where the windshield and cover below it does, and in the back where the rear wing is. Installation might take 3-4 hours, but that's a complete guess, it might take much longer because of wiring the windshield wipers or other unforseen complexities.

For the $, the extra weight, and even for the time involved putting on/off...I say hesistantly, okay. Sailing?
Never cared for sailing. Also I can't help but think about balance. Can't afford the health risk these days, but damn it would be tempting to try

Here is another bike with a roof. Got to be good for UK conditions!

That thing is a design concept, nothing more.
Sadly the concept is totally wrong in so many ways.
It was discussed at some length at another forum I frequent and the general concensus was that its a joke.
It could even be an April fool.

It is now but the story has been around for a long time.
Come on gyro stabilised motorbike?
Its either an April fool or an acid trip.

There seems to be a few on here that could do with a stabilised bike:)

The problem I see with the Lit is the gyro stabilization -- it'll make turning nearly impossible at speed. It's a cool concept, but it'll never work in production (if I end up being wrong years from now, feel free to laugh at me then).
That makes me sad too -- it's a cool ride, I'd love to see it succeed. It's uneconomical and not very functional right now though.

yeah, I wondered about that...
Perhaps it has a steering wheel that adjusts the gyro to tip the bike rather than turn the tire.
With those aerodynamics, it should get good fuel economy though.

Here is a video of the Lit, $19,000 price and you only need 4 people to wheel it in and out of the garage

200 miles on $1 of electricity? Nice! My PCX costs 6X that much (here in the land of (relatively) cheap gas).
Anything electric-motor powered should be torquey. Good...
$19K. Meh...
No wind or rain? Nah, I've already got a cage for that.
I have to believe a third wheel costs less than a couple of gyros and powered kickstands. You can get an MP3 250 for $5K, and have $14K left over for a body kit (and higher fuel costs).
