My pcx starts to vibrates after 80 km/h

Post by supersamo48 »

Hey there guys! My pcx is brand new (just bought and been 700km). My problem is that my scooter's engine starts to vibrate at 80 km/h. Is that normal? All pcx does that?

Mine also starts to "gently" vibrate around that speed.

Just to clarify, it's coming from the engine, not the wheels? Personally I've not noticed such a thing, but if your wheels are vibrating at higher speeds, could be a balancing issue.

I would bet your tires need to me balanced! I have never seen a brand new scooter on the showroom floor that has had balance weights on either rim! I had my shop replace both worn-out original tires. When I went to pick up my bike, I noticed weights on both the front and back tires.

They don't think we go fast enough to bother so it's left to you and I agree with Brent that you might as well get them done since you notice vibration at higher speeds and rule this out first. An easy inexpensive do it yourself solution is 'balance beads' which don't require removing the wheels. Just pour the specified amount in the valve stem after removing the core. (kit comes with a core removal tool) Very effective product and won't contribute to any side effects long term.

Don't venture too far away from quality beads, you want premium internal tire ceramic balancing beads. Reusable, super hard, durable, eco-friendly and will not rust, clump or melt.

I've never noticed this at any speed. It's brand new. You've got a warranty, no? Take it back; have it checked out.

No, just ones with scratches on the bodywork. Told you it was ruined. Wheels will probably fall off next. ;)
