when is fully closed it seems that it will hit the helmet if you put it in the lower position? above the battery?
i ask this because the storage widens where the helmet sits and it seems to me that is going to interfere?
if it doesn't hit the helmet great!
i might be coping your solution:)
While I am currently using "Stick" technology, I have also considered misusing a bit of boating hardware. These hatch springs are used to keep the lid of a nav station up. When you lift the lid, the spring becomes rigid. To close, you push on the side of the spring and it collapses.
On my scoot, getting there is WAY more than half the fun!

I have stated somewhere in this forum that my seat used to fall down but now it stays up by itself. My Forza was made in June 2013 and has 26,000 km (16,000 miles) on it.
Does anyone have one made earlier?
Does anyone have more km (miles) ?
So as the Forza gets older what problems can I expect to see in the future?
The damper is temperature sensitive. Mine will not hold below 60 F. 60-75 F is a maybe, and over 75 F it usually works fine. I complained to the dealer, but they could not find any specific recall notice, and of course on that day it was working fine.
Does anybody know of a specific recall that I could point them too?

@GeorgeSK this is, in my opinion, a better choice than the one from affeno and i will explain why i think that.
on saturday i went with my wife on a trip with the motorcycle club we are registered in. in the compartment under the seat we had her purse, her jacket and my jacket. we put her stuff in the compartment where the battery is but my jacket wouldn't fit in the top compartment. so i had to lay it so part of it was under the thin space that connects the two.
As it turned out it was too hot to wear the jacket so it stayed there for the whole trip. During the trip i opened the seat 3 or 4 times.
Affeno's solution would most probably catch the jacket and maybe damage it also, but GeorgeSK's solution because its a flexible spring and not rigid aluminium wont catch the jacket but adjust its shape upon closure.
