oil level on stick

my first 300. it appears that 1.5 qts over fills the bike. just dropping the stick into the hole without threading it in it show over full
any comments

When changing oil & engine oil filter:1.4 litres
When changing oil only:1.2 litres

1.5 qts. is more than enough to change the oil in the motor AND the rear end. I think the figure is .8 qts. for the motor without opening the screen.

yes indeed; that is the shop manual spec. BUT it appears to over fill if i look at the stick as per my org post.

Oil capacities have nothing to do wth the right amt of oil...why?

Because everyone leaves some in the bike and it's always different.

The proper amount of oil is putting in 3 oz via syringe until it reads mid stick.
