Help!!!!

Post by nbuss14 »

Ok so I am a newb an just took my brand new 2015 pcx up to the park and got caught in some gravel. I fell of the bike landed on the road and scuffed up some of the plastic paneling. I would hate to not replace this paneling eventually. Does anyone know where to purchase new panels?

OH rats! we were doing so well for so long. Sorry you went down, hope you are not injured. Only pride right, yes you can get panels. Just posted a list of various color sets on ebay recently but I need to go find the links. You make the survivors list tonight, that's too bad but rarely does anyone make it twice.... we live and learn.

here we go http://www.hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=5828

I'm sure others might find you individual panels on other sites if you be specific and year is important of course.

Thanks so much for the link. Yes I am fine just wounded pride and pissed at the cosmetic damage. Was going very slow, being new I was not aware of the gravel being such a danger. Lesson well learned. I studied thoroughly the motorcyle manual for my state. I wish they had gone into this but they didn't.

Hate to think you can't find single panels for good prices. Black is a common color choice but it would still take some time to sell off a whole set and recover your money in here. However it is amazing you can buy all those panels for 400 bucks. I can't get a headlight for my Buell for 400.00 o_O

Thanks for the suggestion. Yeah it really is pretty cheap considering and you could then have two different color options of you kept the old ones. Pretty cool! 400 for a light lol that's ridiculous.

400 parts MANY hours of labor... better make it a winter project  and get yourself a service manual. Do a video too because DAHAM! I don't know how to remove the front end stuff and that's most likely where you scuffed one. I get people looking at my vids asking for 'how to's' on the front panels but I've had no reason to go there yet.

Hi nbuss14! And Welcome! :P
What's this I'm reading about a fall? So you're okay? You must've been wearing protective gear. Perfect! About the fixie panels, they are sold at many online stores. I see homie's provided some leads, NICE! I've always wondered what a Black and White paneled PCX would look like. I guess I'll never know till......(don't Even think a'bout it!) :)
Good luck, and keep us updated

Heh, you are neither the first, nor the last to learn this painful lesson. I was teaching my wife to ride a few years back and she was doing great until she decided to turn into a parking lot that was all gravel. I'm behind her yelling "NO NO NO!!" She didn't hear me, made the turn, and down she went.

There are all sorts of road surfaces that give us trouble. Gravel, oily surfaces, leaves, ice, snow, etc. Gravel is the worst though. Even a little bit on the road surface can be disastrous.

As for the body panels, you might even get a good price straight from your local Honda dealer. After my crash, I had them appraise the damage and it came to less than $200 for all the panels on the right side. I decided not to replace them yet, but still, that's not bad really.

Too bad motorcycle safety courses are not part of the licensing procedure in all States.
Too many skip this course because they're " just buying a scooter".
There is a lot of riding experience shared by these veteran instructors.

Since so many fall and scuff that Frontline side panel, and yours is black anyway, why not just touch up the panel with some model paint and put it on your list of things to do after you have ridden some more? That is what I did on my wife's bike while she was getting use to, and falling off of, her new bike. :-)

By the way, look on bikebandit.come for parts. You could replace the entire pcx color for around $200, so if you don't want black, change it.
