PCX cold start problems - NOT

PCX has been sitting out in the cold (carport) since winter got here - right next to my Burgman 650.
I haven't run it in about a month and I don't put either of them on battery tender.
.
Last few weeks have had a bunch of below freezing nights.
.
This mornings trip to the clinic on the PCX, I was out the door at about 0630 hrs.

PCX started right up, 29*f, -2*C, push off center stand and off I went.
.
Ran like a champ.
.
Last ride before this on PCX was 4 weeks ago and about 30 miles each way so very little idling.
.
So here are my thoughts on problem starting when it is cold.
City driving with short rides or longer rides with idle stop engaged (not on North American scoots)
I would probably put on battery tender if I didn't use everyday.
I would also probably leave the idle stop switched off during cold (near freezing or below).
AGM batteries are supposed to have a very good tolerance for cold even below freezing.

The most reliable scoot I had previous to the PCX was a Honda SES Dylan. During one particularly lousy Scottish winter it sat outside for about 2 months in the snow, it was so cold the cover froze to the bike. Despite all that it fired up first time when the thaw came (and that wasn't with fuel injection). Love Honda scoots, bullet proof reliable.

Chief says he's waiting for someone who has a PCX in the drift up to the bars. Dig out the exhaust and fire it up.
Now that would be good for a few thousand hits on YT.

GeeGus: I'm glad your Honda PCX started right up for you. It helps that you have a carport. Good old Honda's!

If you could take one suggestion it would be to use a battery tender anyway. They cost $25.00 & change from Amazon here:

That short-money investment has extended the life of countless batteries. Easy as pie to install. OEM scooter/motorcycle batteries aren't cheap & the tender simply keeps it on a float charge so you can cruise @ a moment notice without any worries. Your call.

BTW....I checked & so far I haven't found a non-OEM battery for my 2015 PCX. They will show up as time passes, but right now it's Yuasa/Honda for a replacement.

Here in northern Colorado we've had several weeks of cold & snow (overnights in the teens to low 20s), but I keep the scoot in the garage.
The garage is attached to the house & probably no colder than mid-to-upper-30s.

Mild winter here in Chicago and I've been switching my one bat tender between bikes and yes there is always energy loss and after a few minutes topped off. I don't understand why and one battery is brand new but they do drain slowly even in the garage during mild winters. Perhaps not enough to be dead in the spring but these tender devices are doing there job so I will use them.

Depending on which way the wind blows, the angle of the dangle, and all the other variables in the universe,
I plan to do a scooter ride this coming summer.
If my nephew doesn't get redeployed to the middle east again I plan a stop at Fort Carson.
If this all comes to pass, I may ride up to your way and say hello.

I have leukemia so I know what you mean about attitude. I think it is the key to everything life throws a you. Even after our accident I still want to ride and enjoy life as much as I can. You may glow, but you can still go. :-)
