Availability of Givi D1130ST

Post by happy trails »

Hello from sort of new owner (about a month and 650 miles). I have been waiting for news about the Givi D1130ST windscreen being released. I thought I would "see it here first" so have been chillin and eating Florida bugs all month. In frustration I finally called a supplier and asked. I was told that there is "no such number in the system". I called Givi in North Carolina and a quite surly fellow finally said it had been available since July. I explained that dealers I had checked were not aware. He said in a churlish way that Givi wasn't responsible for the failings of their dealers. I finally asked for a dealer name he thought would know about it. He told me to call "Tour and Ride" as it is a Givi owned dealership. After much digging, I found it listed on their web site, for the 2015 PCX150, at a price of $108 with free shipping.

Love the scoot, but beginning with my local Honda dealer, every encounter I have had with any kind of customer service, since day one, has been maddening and infuriating.

I haven't ordered the windscreen yet, hoping someone has already bought it and has some thoughts about it.

That should be a good windshield to start off with and if it is too tall, you can trim it so that you look just over the top. I also heated my givi screen to bend the angle back.

I just took a look at the Givi tall D1130ST over at Tour and Ride's website, http://tourandride.com/browseproducts/s ... w=category
Since August their price rose $108.00 to $120.00.

Tour and Ride had several D1130ST windshields in stock a couple of weeks ago.
I decided to wait a couple of days before ordering one. When I finally called to place an
order, they had already sold all of them !

I placed an order anyway with Tour and Ride. They said that I would be first in
line to get one when another shipment comes in (about 8 more weeks). The price
will be $ 108, with free shipping.

He who hesitates.......well, you know.

BTW: I think that Tour and Ride is the only Givi-owned dealer for Givi products in the US.

Johnny, did you try Competition Accessories Outlet Store in South Carolina? They carry a lot of Givi products and they are only a State away from Givi in North Carolina. They might be able to get their hands on one IF your order falls through. Maybe give them a call? 1 855-518-6681

Thanks. I checked Competition Accessories. They don't have them for the 2015
PCX, and they didn't know whether they will even be getting them. The rep
that I talked to said "We don't do much scooter business".

Thanks again, though.

Thanks for the photo, PCXOWNER. The windshield height looks ideal.
How well does it work in minimizing turbulence and wind noise ?
I'm looking forward to receiving the D1130ST that I already ordered.

BTW: What is the name / model number of that top box? Do you have
another picture that shows it in greater detail ? It appears to have a true
"box" shape, which would probably be more practical for carrying all kinds
of items.

Nice looking PCX. Thanks for sharing.

I received a D1130ST tall windshield (for my 2015 PCX150) yesterday from
Tour and Ride. It's a nice looking shield.

No installation instructions were included. The Tour and Ride rep told me
to just remove the original shield mounting screws and install it. I removed
the two screws that are under the front lip of the original shield, thinking
that the shield could simply be lifted off. It won't budge.

Any help (especially pictures !! ) will be appreciated.

I'll post pictures and my riding impressions if I ever figure out how to install it !!

Two pics from the 2015 service manual and few of mine. Nothing like getting your long awaited screen and Not being able to mount it! Arg!
Hope these help :)

Warning! Be careful pulling off the Front Grille. I snapped the tips off the very top Small clips (see photo's).
When removing: work your fingers under the center of grille (middle area) and lift the edges you might hear a pop releasing those clips...then pull the grille downward. Be careful not to scratch your bike as you pull downward. The same goes for when you mount the new screen...To be careful. The area is tight while sliding the grille up to latch or...down to release.

The stock screen is easy to remove. 4 bolts, 4 plastic washers and Off!

Removing the plastics on this scoot are a real treat!! NOT! "They Are A Puzzlement!" :D

Thanks yet again, WhiteNoise !!

The info you provided made installation of the shield very easy.

A short test ride (couple of miles at about 60 mph) confirmed that
the D1130ST works very well. I'm 5-10, and I can just see over
the top of the screen. I also plan to try to adapt a Laminar Lip
(which was originally installed on my Ducati) to the new shield.

I'll provide pictures in the near future.

Note: If any forum members plan to buy one of the D1130ST
shields from Tour and Ride, ask them to give you the same price
that I got from them ( $ l08, free shipping ). I think that their
price has recently been changed back to $120.......wouldn't hurt
to ask for the lower price.

Here are several pictures of my new Givi D1130ST windshield installed on my
2015 Honda PCX150.
Note: The yellow snap tabs (on the grille) are not used with the D1130ST
screen; however, the grille is attached by 2 screws and 4 small tabs at the
rear, so I don't see any reason why that would be a problem.
To see the pictures, click on my blog here:

Now that I have a windshield that I like......
I'm looking at top boxes.

To: PCXOwner

Please tell us about the top box that you have on your 2014 PCX
in the picture that you posted on this thread...........
brand name, size (capacity), model number, etc.
Did you have to use a Monokey box adapter to mount that box ?
It looks like the Givi and Kappa monokey "adventure" type boxes.
How has the box worked out for you ? Personally, I like the way
the box looks on your PCX.

Thanks
Johnny
