Service Costs
Guys, could you give me the cost or quotes what you've had for servicing at 2500, 5000 , 7500 and 10000 miles?
Cheers

Re: Service Costs
Some paid around £55 for the first, one person paid for all up front and paid around £400 - HGB quoted me £900+ inc VAT! (doing it myself now)

Re: Service Costs
In the UK and maybe Europe wide, the only good reason for dealer servicing is to keep the warranty. UK law allows you to get it serviced at any good motorbike/scooter garage, the book stamped, and as long as Honda parts are used your warranty is intact - but getting Honda to accept that should any major problems arise is another thing.
If you want to take your chances, then saving £500-900 of dealer charges over 2 years is worth it as it would cost less to fix most things.

Re: Service Costs
Just had my 600 mile service 2 days ago, came to £63 and took around 1h 30m.
I asked about the next service (2500) and he said it would be around £110 without the valve clearance checks and £150 with.
He did say it will more likely be £150 though.

Re: Service Costs
I've been quoted just under a grand for 4 services under the serivce plan scheme, and that's supposed to be 10-15% cheaper.

Than what?
If that's the best deal you can get then go for it. Fetch it around to my garage and I'll do it for £800. I'll even knock 10% of the 5th service
(Which you'll never reach)
Let's just say £1,200 for 6 services?
Money in the bank for you. You'd be a fool not to.
Consumables extra including labour, parts, wear and tear

Re: Service Costs
I'm paying £99 for a service, paid £65 for the first one. Dealer always does oil changes with each service regardless of handbook recommendations, been with them for 2 years of Vision ownership and they've always been brilliant.

Re: Service Costs
We have the technology for self adjusting mechanics. Heck they don't even want to see my car for oil change until 10k. Valves, brakes, fuel injection all monitored and maintained by the vehicle itself but the PRICE of the auto
If you can do the motorcycle service yourself do it. But even if you can't lets not get to worked up over paying for service because the future may be more costly bikes if they go high tech with bikes that maintain themselves.
