Finally, Fonda Da Honda is beautiful once again.

Post by Seph »

So thanks for sticking with me on this.
Pcx is now fully restored after my accident.
Tupperware job seemed daunting but wasn't at all that bad. I actually really enjoyed myself today.

Got the PCX on a left over PINK birthday table cloth, got a table, some jars for parts and screws; and got a "motorbike riding" spotify playlist on the go.

Music blasting down the side of my house, I went to work. 4 hours later she's all pretty once again :D

Thanks to everyone who helped me with this project.

some Progress shots as well as a before and after.

The before. Hard to believe because of my impeccable duct tape skills, but that PCX is ugly! *the bent brake handle, scuffed caps and scratched mirror had all been replaced before hand.

Now Fonda is all new and beautiful looking I'll have to take some nicer photos rather than near my bins or on my neighbours weedy paths.

Is the giant L on the windscreen serving some sort of purpose? Is this an "other side of the pond" thing?

It's a legal requirement if on a CBT licence (125 max, 14x BHP max). That is the legal size although it can be fitted to the wheel arm or such. Some cut it down to a tiny L or do not have one on when on a CBT - both illegal but it's up to them. One must be fitted to the rear to - same size.

Stands for "Leaner" or more like "Loser" in some people's eyes. Personally I couldn't give a monkey's about the L Plate. I'm 30, ride a scooter and play dolls with my daughter...I have zero street cred. :p

Hah, me either. I thought that's what it was, but we have nothing like that here in the states (at least not on this end of things). it makes sense in a way, but would probably cause quite a stir here. People already hate the DMV as it is. Hah!

I've heard horror stories of your DMV, our CBT test and places aren't bad at all. It's normally just a small independently run business. It's a few hours of talk and a nice ride out. I had an awful scooter to ride with a messed up indicator that day, but £100ish and I was away. Lasts for two years and I can resit instead of doing my full licence.

It's an interesting idea, but I'd prefer it be placed on cars instead, preferably for people with talking/texting while driving infractions so fellow drivers will know to avoid the idiots.

£25 for theory test, £15 for mod 1 (maybe take 2 goes so say £30) £75 for mod 2, gets you full A1 licence = 125cc with no L plates and can carry pillion, not a shoddy investment really. Potentially not much more than your next CBT. And will make you a safer rider.

Kudo's Seph!!
4 hours goes fast when yer having fun and the beer afterwards certainly tastes better than under normal circumstances! You deserved "a cold one" or 2,3,4
??? Did you run into any snags or break any plastic tabs in the process? They Are a bugger! One goes this way, another one goes that away. Lift here, pull forward...no wait! Pull backwards. No!! Pull up! Arg!
Nothing like a quiet strip down  dress up scoot day :D Fonda's looking her Fabulous self again. Camera shy? Nah, she ain't.
I'm certainly happy you shared with us. Nice thread!

Standing back and having a beer is one of the best things about working on a bike.
