Has anyone tried Honda 901 vs 701 cvt belt on the 150 ??

Post by GeeGusKahn »

OK, has anyone tried the shorter belt from pre ESP PCX 125 ??
.
I got one by mistake and being me I did some measuring.
.
As close as I can tell, using a cloth tape to measure, the difference is ~10mm
.
The 701 is ~840mm
The 901 is ~830mm
.
Anyone with thoughts on this - please speak up before I go mounting this belt. :o
.
thanks

Not really, but very lackluster ride and could not get over 60 mph.
.
switched to a new correct size belt - a quick test ride - much better.

What is the correct size of the belt? I'm new to all this and having a hard time finding the dimensions of the belt. Considering upgrading the variator and clutch and possibly the belt on my scooter.

I have only used the Honda OEM belt.
For the 2013 PCX 150, it is Honda part number with the 701 in it.
I don't have the full part number in front of me.
.
If you plan to switch variators etc, you need to see what mfg of that variator recommends.
Also spend some time reading the posts in this forum, there is some good information.
.
In my case, due to an unusual failure - see my post at

http://www.hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=4873

for more info - you have to read all the way through it to understand the connection to the CVT belt.
