PCX 150 vs Forza 300

Post by conv1900 »

Hi again Forum!
I was wandering if anyone has a chance to compare both scooters? The reason is I ride on the highway on commute. the scooter handles just fine, but top speed is 52MPH....maybe 55 if you hold it open long enough on level ground.. I have seen posts on the internet that the Forza will run 80 MPH.
That is fine , but not looking for a speed Demon, just to be able to run speeds of 65 without being wide open.

Like to hear from riders that have road both.....Thanks GC :ugeek:

Your PCX only does 52-55? Has it always been like that?

I've had a PCX 125 and now a Forza.
The only thing a PCX does better is fuel economy and turning circle.
In every other way the Forza is better.

Thanks for the reply! Yes: It has been that way every since it was new...only has 1100 miles on it. the best is 55MPH on flat road no wind & takes about
3 to 5 min. to get above 50 to 52MPH to 55MPH.........thanks GC :ugeek:

Thanks for the reply!......Seems better suited for me. I was a little curious, when the Honda power sport dealer said it would run 70 MPH.
But there again they only had new Scooters to ride & I didn't want to run a new machine wide open...GC :ugeek:

If by "it" he meant a PCX he's lying.
If he meant a Forza its an underestimation, it'll sit at 75-80mph quite happily.

There is something horribly wrong with your PCX. Like maybe somebody stuck 20+ gram roller weights in the variator or something. My stock 2015 PCX had no trouble getting up to 60 mph.

Regarding your original question, you're going to want a Forza 300. Even sticking a Big Bore Kit, performance camshaft, large injector, DNA air filter, Takegawa Power Silent Oval Exhaust, and Yuminashi vario with 10g weights, getting to 65 mph usually requires full throttle with little to no reserve.

How many miles are on your PCX? How much do you weigh?

I'm 6'1", 240lb (naked) and had no issues hitting the limited (~62mph) without a fuss.

Should differentiate between PCX 125 and 150s here.

I am 205 lbs and my PCX 150 hit 68 mph (the limiter) before the NCY upgrades. Now it hits 74 mph. I have a mid height Givi WS.

Hi Again

As in prior post it has just over 1100 miles. I weigh 160 Lbs. yes the Dealer was talking of the PCX being able to do 70 MPH.....Ha Ha

I did a little checking my self , as Dealer performed 600 Mile service.( Part of deal) I only found 1 missing bolt & U-nut.(bottom of storage compartment)
But: I was able to find incorrect throttle cable adjustment.. when throttle was wide open( at grip) the throttle body was not against throttle stop.
I readjusted & finished my check over.......test ride & found I was able to reach 64 MPH without any trouble.

Thanks for all reply's. & keep the shiny side up & ride safe!!! GC

They take quite a while to get up to max on a straight stretch - nothing you can count on in traffic. I think the Givi mid helps a mile or two. I think the tall may slow it down a bit. I tend to keep my PCX 55-60 max and use the Forza for any highway runs since it is happy at 75 mph and faster.
