Worfab, as I'm an owner of a 80 mph '13 pcx 150, are you sure about the '15 being limited?

Hi,
I was also wondering. I am 6ft. and weigh about 195lbs. My speedometer showed about 63 to 64 mph yesterday when it seemed to hit the limiter or something that felt like it started missing or running out of fuel. It only had about 570 miles on it. I have read somewhere that the PCX was limited at 70 mph. My 2015 seems to be less.

The 2015 does seem to be limited about 3-4 mph slower than the 2013s in the US. Not sure why. Maybe it was done to reduce maintenance issues to engine, etc.???

I am 6' and 215 lbs.

The jerking feeling you are getting is the weights in the variator bouncing off the end of the ramps. An aftermarket variator eliminates this. Personally I recomend Daytona from Webike.

Not sure if the belt fits the '15 PCX but its the only way Webike sells this specific variator now. Also get a set of 12g Dr. Pulley Sliders.

After getting my 2015 yesterday, I can confirm that the exhaust from my 2013 bolts right up as expected. Did not swap over the pod filter yet, and not sure if I'm going to...it just adds so much extra noise. I may eventually try it, but would like to put some time in the saddle and try out a few hills in the area that I'm familiar with on my 2013 to see what it's capable of in comparison to my 2013, maybe give the motor a bit more time to break in. Also, and a BIG also (at least to me) is the fact that the 2015 has a larger battery! It's 6lbs vs 4 1/4 lbs or so. SO, I saved 5lbs by swapping in the LiIon battery I had in my 2013! It also means that while the OEM 2015 battery will fit in the 2013, it's too large to be able to put the battery cover over it as the battery is about an inch taller. Curious why they thought the 2015 needed a larger battery.

I can also confirm that the 2015 has 16g sliders vs. the stock 18g sliders that the 2013 had. I chopped the fender, and also pulled off the centerstand. =)

Curious why they thought the 2015 needed a larger battery > because the original 2013 battery could not keep up with too much use of the idle-stop function, so Honda put in an uprated battery and intelligent circuitry to disabled the idle-stop function if the battery volts dropped too low at any point (there's a comprehensive graph in the shop manual - not just a simple cut-off point). I'm not sure the new circuitry and monitoring will be ok with a lower spec battery - your probably ok though.

Not quite right. The jerking is the rev limiter of the engine control unit.

This could be true! Would certainly make sense for markets where they have the idle stop feature. But since we don't have it on the USA models...maybe they didn't feel like sourcing an additional battery for the USA models, especially since scooters are wildly unpopular here.

Anyway, you're right, I should be fine. Glad to have saved 5lbs off the bike though just from the battery. =)

NEWS FLASH!!!

I just spent the afternoon swapping transmissions and pulling the pod filter of one of my 2013 PCX 150's and put it onto my 2015 150. Now, here's where it gets interesting! I already mentioned yesterday (I think) that the 2015 has a dual throttle cable setup (pull & return) vs. the 2013'w single cable setup, but what I found out today is that Honda decided to put a SMALLER THROTTLE BODY on the 2015! I didn't measure it but it loos to be about 4-5mm smaller bore. Interesting...wonder why they would change it! As a result, was a tight fit squeezing the pod filter onto there, and I had to modify it by cutting a piece of hose and sleeving it to make it fit the smaller throttle body. Real solution would be to get a smaller diameter filter.

As a side note, for whatever reason, my oldest 2013 (with 2400 miles on the odometer) accelerates the hardest from a stop. Both my newer 2013 and my 2015 both have 900 miles on them and don't leave the line as hard, and it's quite noticable. Hoping when my 2015 breaks in with another couple thousand miles on it, that it improves as well. Otherwise, that means that my older 2013 is just freakishly powerful. =)

Yes, I have 3 scooters, and 2 of them have NCY variators and drive faces. Selling the one that I put the stock variator back into. I switched the two today in order to put the one variator that has been slightly machined down onto the 2015. If I'm right, it gets an additional 2mph top speed over the non machined variator. I'm making my 2015 my "cool" sport scooter now, and will be assigning my 2013 to surf duty and putting the surf rack on it most likely.

2 bolts on the fork tubes and they slide anywhere you want them. Why do that? It won't improve the aerodynamics at all.

Mine seems to hit the limiter at only 63mph. The 2015s are geared a little lower than the 2013s. I have to say I'm disappointed. 63 will not always keep up with Dallas freeway traffic speeds, even if 60 is the speed limit, to flow with traffic one has to drive 65-70 sometimes. The scoot is stable at its top speed.
