How hard is it to work with the vinyl? I could black out some parts on my wife's car and eventually work on the scoot.

two big things spend the extra for quality material. ive used both the cheap 1mil and then the 3m 3mil and it was so much easier to work the 3m with being able to stretch it. its not difficult but if you are doing a single color i would advise get extra so that you can practice. now if you are doing carbon its not too difficult because the design meshes so you can just do another layer to cover missed spots
